I am a first-year student in the CSE department of this renowned Institute. I am giving this honest review through my experience to give proper perspective of institute through my eyes to the new aspirants. The campus is considered one of the smallest among NITs. The infrastructure is average, but we make up for it with enthusiasm. The faculty and staff are friendly and willing to solve problems. Hostel facilities and food services are average. Sports facilities are great. You need to buy your own equipment. There is only 1 main ground and a basketball court. There are many clubs here and seniors are really helpful. Overall, it is a good institute, holding an exciting journey for the students.

As a CSE student I think I am eligible to write about academics in my institute. The class infrastructure is decent. We don't have ACs in the class. Apart from what you are taught in the class, you need to self-study from other resources as well. The class timings are somewhat flexible.

The faculties here are helpful and always willing to clear our doubts. They are energetic and enthusiastic. They encourage us to explore new things on our own.

Yes, we do have a placement and training cell in the campus. They train the students for their interviews and teach them how to write a resume. Online tests are also conducted here to make sure we get the best placement possible par to our skills.

Yes, we have many hostels here. There are 4 hostels reserved for the first-year students (separate for boys and girls) among which there are 2 boys’ hostels. Mess is average. Vegetarian food is there most days, but non-vegetarian has been started in some hostels at selected days and timings. There are varieties of hostel rooms according to the number of people. Mostly there are 2-, 3-, 4-, and 6-seater sharing rooms. The rooms are not air-conditioned. Personal heater, ACs, and TV are not allowed. Hostel life is fun.

There are several buildings. Various departments and labs are present in the campus. It's almost a 5-minute walk from my hostel to the farthest department. As I mentioned above, NIT Patna is average in terms of infrastructure; but our new campus in Bihta near Patna is going to very good with all the required equipments and facilities. It is still under construction, but half of the construction has been completing and 2nd and 3rd students have started shifting there.

Campus life is good. I would start with the fact that you won't get any fresher's party here. You need to buy your own sports equipment and playing space is also limited. There are various clubs and there is always some event going on at weekends organized by the seniors. You can explore and enjoy here with likeminded people and build connections and memories worth a ton.
