My Experience of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University

Overall Rating
The campus life is best overall and campus is full of greenery. Overall placement is good as more than 80% students get placed every year. Student exchange program is also there in this university and the class rooms are well equipped and air conditioned. All in all, very good university and campus life is also best.
 

Academics Rating
The course is B.Tech in Civil Engineering. The university has well equipped labs for practical. Enrollment in this program is based on Class 12th score and JEE Mains score. Academic is also good and administration is very helpful.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are very good and all are well qualified and teachers are passed out from IIT. Their way of teaching is also good. They give every detailed explanation of subject and provide notes. Teaching software is used in our course. Teachers are very helpful in nature. They provide detailed knowledge about course.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, placement cell is at our university which provide jobs to student in various industries Like L & T, Wipro, Cognizant, etc.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, residential facilities are there in the university. Hostel life is full of enjoy.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are various academic blocks with structured buildings and state-of-the-art auditorium. The campus is designed by famous architect of Jammu. Our university is surrounded by Trikuta hills and library. Campus is full of greenery that is pleasing to the eyes.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is very good and enjoyable. Various fests are conducted here every year like tech fest called ‘Titiksha’ And cultural fest is ‘Resurgence’. Vaishno Devi shrine is also near from our university. There are various clubs in the university like Photography club, Astronomy club, etc.

    Overall I would rate my university a 7 out of 10. There are many good things inside the university like very nice hostels and tidy rooms. the faculty is also very friendly and easy to understand. The infrastructure of the university is also very good. The negative sides of the university are not up to the mark mess food quality and lower than expected packages.     My overall experience in this university is above average because it is better than I expected. I chose this university because it is near my home and it provides better placements than all the universities in Jammu & Kashmir. I am currently doing Civil Engineering in this university because it is in high demand in the state. The infrastructure is also very good. University has 450 acres of campus.... Read Full Review

    I am a B.Tech student studying in CSE, 2nd year in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. I choose S.M.V.D.U. because it is the only university in Jammu and Kashmir which provides placements with a decent package. Also, the infrastructure is very good. The university provides all sorts of facilities to the students including hostel mess, free Wi-Fi and all other things which are necessary for the students.     All in all, the university is great for studying and preparing for GATE and many other competitive exams. Students are encouraged by the faculty for the same too. The venue might be a little discouraging in terms of job opportunities, because it's in Katra but still, the university is pretty decent with its placements. Still personally, I like the venue and the environment here, it's healthy. So all in all, it's a great and peaceful university to attend, with decent future opportunities.... Read Full Review
