Just like every other JEE aspirant I too started searching for the perfect institute according to my rank. I found IIIT Allahabad perfect in terms of placements, infrastructure, etc. Then I went ahead and chose IIIT Allahabad considering its placement statistics and coding culture. But little did I know that I will be left with very less time for coding. Placements wise it will definitely be one of the best institutes but it cannot give you great institute life. You will have frequent assessments, quizzes, presentations, etc. I could rate my overall experience in institute as 7 out of 10. This rating is considering all the factors.

Course curriculum in IIIT Allahabad is quite tough. It will be very difficult to maintain a good CGPA. Main drawback of this kind of strict curriculum is you will be left with no time for coding. Managing time for coding and academics is the main challenge. But studying subjects like OOPS (Object Oriented Programming); DBMS (Database Management), CN (Computer Networks), OS (Operating System), DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms) will help you prepare for placement as well because questions from these subjects are asked in your interviews. You can get admission in IIIT Allahabad based on the cutoff given by NTA. This varies every year. Please take admission if you are only interested in placements and confident enough to handle the pressure. You will not have much time for extracurricular.

Just like any other institute some professors are very good and some don't teach well. But end of the day you need to put efforts to score well no matter how good the professor is. Some professors are very strict in terms of evaluation. 75% attendance is mandatory. There are instances where professors failed students because their attendance is less than 75%.

Placements are very good in IIIT Allahabad. Some of the good companies like Google, Apple, LinkedIn, Goldman Sachs, and more visit our institute. Good number of companies visits campus so this will increase your chance of getting placed.

Hostels are well maintained and clean. You have a badminton court near GH1 and basket ball court in main ground.

All the classes for B.Tech take place in CC3. You will have labs and library facilities available. But you cannot access them after 12 AM. Recently strict timing has been imposed. CC3 is well maintained and you will not find much problem in terms of infrastructure. Classrooms are air-conditioned and spacious.

Every year you will have three fests-Effervescence, Aproksha (Technical fest) and Asmitha (Sports fest). You have different clubs and societies like Virtuosi (music club), Geneticx (dance), Saraswa (Literature), AMS (media and photography), etc. You can enter these clubs by giving auditions in your first year based on your interest. You can definitely explore your interests.
