KIET University B.Tech Review By Avni

I am a freshman at the KIET Group of Institution, pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). The institution is known as "IIT Ghaziabad" due to its popularity, recognition and accolades. With a glorious history of more than 25 years of imparting wisdom, the institution is excelling in the field of education producing worthy Engineers. Moreover, the institution not only focuses on the academics but also the overall development of the student by having many different student driven clubs in various domains to enroll themselves in. One the best feature is the proximity of the institute’s campus to the Metro Station providing day scholars’ commuting more convenient.

KIET is now an Autonomous Institution and the biggest advantage of this is that the course of the institution is now designed by the institute’s management itself, considering the latest trends of the industry and its requirement, thus bridging the gap between industry and academia. So, the course now is much more based on practical knowledge rather than cramming the theoretical knowledge.

The faculties of the institution are quite experienced and are degree holders from various prestigious institutions of the country. Moreover, since the institute has been given the title of Autonomous; all the labs, and its experiments have been changed in order to teach the students topics that are actually necessary. Also, teachers are quite easy going and not so strict.

Although I'm in the first year, I tried to know about the placement scenario in the institute from the seniors and faculty members and what I learnt is that you basically need to work on your hard skills and communications skills in order to grab a high paying job. That is why the institute organizes various competitions, fests and events in order to build up the overall personality of the student and end them up in a good paying job.

Though I'm a day scholar but the hostel is quite up to the mark keeping the view of food, discipline, hygiene in mind as by the reviews from the friends. Also, another great perk that hostellers enjoy is that they have inter-hostel competitions the whole year in sports, dance, painting that keeps the students interested and engaged. Day scholars do not get to participate in events like Garba night whereas hostellers get to enjoy all such events.

The institute campus is stretched in 18 acres. Inspite of a limited area every corner of the institute is utilized up to great extent. All the classrooms have well equipped technological tools. All the classrooms are installed with at least 4 air-conditioners, and projectors. The washrooms are quite hygienic. The institute has various Centres of Excellence in which students can enroll themselves and gain in-depth practical and industry level knowledge. Moreover, the institute has a cricket ground, a football ground, volleyball ground, shooting range, lawn tennis courts, table tennis court, badminton court, basketball court, etc.

My campus life so far has been quite smooth and joyous. I have attended various distinguished lecture sessions that the institute organizes. It has helped me gain practical knowledge. Moreover, I have joined various Sports Club, Public Speaking Club, Quiz Club and Centre of Excellence. Talking about exams, my pre-class test went quite well, the teachers are very flexible while giving marks and students who were not able to get good marks were given a second chance to improve their marks. I would definitely recommend the institute for admission.
