Sushant University B.Tech Review By Aakash Tyagi

Almost all the universities of Gurgaon and NCR accepts AIEEE score. I was targeting the Northcap University but by the time, I went there, the seats were already full for CSE. They were ready to offer me other branches but because I was firm that I will be doing CSE, I went ahead with Sushant. Overall if I see, Sushant was a nice college but one should only keep this as a backup option. By the time it was under IP, it was one of the best colleges in Gurugram but then who want to shy away from money. As soon as it became university, the fees have rose multi-fold, the student in-take have gone high. Many quality projects that students are asked to do, go under the slope. My overall experience at Sushant was a mix of some bitter and sweet memories. Colleges like SPA, The Northcap University, and CEPT should be in your priority list.

Sushant University has made many tie-ups with universities in abroad and therefore we used to have live sessions on what the students are taught there. I just understand one thing that why fix when it isn’t broken. I have no doubts in saying that engineering studies are best in India and many countries look up to us. I was not at all impressed by showing us what students in Israel, Australia, and Singapore are taught. The syllabus of Sushant was adept and if one follows that wholeheartedly they will go places. If rather than doing such stunts the university thrives to better its already existing academic system, the university will once again regain the top spot among private universities of NCR.

Number of faculty was quite high and it was surprising. CSE had three sections and 80-90 in each. Please keep your hands at heart because for catering these 270 students there were 30 odd faculties. Yes, the numbers are staggering and why not when the university can rightly afford keeping extra faculties on board. Faculty were nice when it came to seeking advice. The university is young but the faculty had world of experience behind them.

Placements were not poor not rich because 6 out of 10 were placed from the campus. I will say that the number is good because even the existing colleges and universities doesn’t have this ratio. Irrespective of your branch, you will get a job offer only from the IT company. We had Covid in-between and it seemed impossible that we will even have placements. Thanks to University’s online placement program that we were interviewed online and as many IT companies have now designed their own entrance to see whether one qualifies or not. Those who cleared or fell in the criteria of the companies were hired as Wipro and Accenture were the prominent names that hired students of Sushant.

At Sushant campus there were two hostels. One is boys and one is girls and both had rooms for students who seek an accommodation. Like the norms that every college and university follow, the students who were staying at least 50km far from the college can avail the accommodation facility. So, I couldn’t qualify but hostels were outstanding as the room for three with air-conditioning and heaters made it easy for students to adjust as per the weather. There was a guest house for parents at the campus and hostel students were allowed to host their parents at the campus. So those who have stayed at the hostel can tell more because I can’t give more brief on this.

One can argue that Sushant fees is high but when one looks at the campus, even they will say that the fees is justified. Fully air-conditioned buildings with elevators in them. It was compulsory for students to take care of fitness as every year when we went to the campus, we had to pass a fitness test. The campus was closed for almost two years due to Covid or else, the students who passed from Sushant would not just been academically bright but would have been fitness freak as well. To keep the students fit, the university has built an area dedicated for fitness. In that center, there is a recreation room for boys and girls. Two lawn tennis courts, a basketball court, a sports ground and not to forget the world-class gym. For the opening of gym none other than the fittest man in India, Virat Kohli was called upon.

Sushant gives ample opportunities for students to explore other areas of their interest like sports, dance, debates and much more. I wish I was a part of the campus for long because the clubs and all were quite happening and all the activities came to halt at the end of 3rd year. So the final two semesters were online as we just went for 4th semester exams in 2021. Since, rich brats are the ones who come to the college; you will see students flaunting themselves in high end brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, FCUK, and many more.
