It’s beyond me how ‘Sushant University’ cannot rank in Top Colleges of Gurgaon where most Colleges and Universities are always criticized for being fake and others. I think in that situation Gurgaon must be the greatest quaint town in India because if Sushant can’t, then no University in Gurgaon can even dream of ranking at all India level. Let me put it this way, I think Gurgaon is the best city for education since education has been invented. Before taking admissions here, I checked a lot of things and the main reason was to look for an University that understands the importance of education first as rest all are secondary for me. There are Universities like the ‘NorthCap University’ which is quite good in few parameters but Sushant is one that may not have the best of placements but the placements were large and wide and students here stand a chance. So, all in all, firstly it’s difficult for me to digest why Sushant University can’t find space to be standing among the Top Private Universities in Gurgaon.

As they say, academics is the shining light in all rest of the areas that I will be reviewing where once again the placements which are considered as a bright prospect for ranking have done well. The academic performance of the University was Apache as all Universities claim that attendance is compulsory but Sushant is one where it is compulsory. Every time, I have to check my name in the exam list because out of 700+ students at least 200 are debarred from writing exams because of less attendance. Every odd day practicals were done as CS can’t be learned through textbooks. This is a true fact because I have had my knowns from various Universities and they all said their University academics are more or less confined with text books.

As soon as I knew faculty, I was like, oh my God, what a plus their experience and academic acumen are. All of them passed out from IIT and with experience there were some fresh legs too but they were so good that the University did the best thing by hiring them during their sophomore year of teaching. I believe they were the ones who created a hell lot of difference because not a learned individual but an individual who duly believes that there’s no age for learning is what the faculties of Sushant University were.

In terms of placements, Sushant University has done quite well. IT names like Accenture, Genpact, Polaris, and Mindtree were there but almost every company today needs IT solutions. Pepsico was going through a rough patch and that is where I did an internship and was invited by them for the job too. However, the job was offered at some small village in Gujarat as they had their plant over there. It took me a lot of sleepless nights before rejecting that offer but the crux here is that, if a student who has maintained 7 CGPAs can get a job from Sushant means over 60% of the students were offered jobs through the campus placements.

A boy’s and a girl’s hostel was there inside the campus. The hostel was too big as in that one boy’s hostel there were 6-blocks and each block had around 120 students. The girl’s hostel was huge as it had over 200 rooms and that was good enough to hold nearly 500+ girl’s at the hostel. There were AC and non-AC rooms available. The fees were over 1 lakhs but because the University is a little far from the main sectors of Gurgaon staying at the hostel was ideal. Just one rule which was against it, students had to pay the entire year fees in advance before the final semester of a year ends. If one has failed to reserve the hostel before, let’s say at the end of second semester, there are chances that they might lose their hostel seat.

The College buildings of Sushant University were too good to be called real. The University library was divided in three portions and had two reading halls. There was a canteen and a cafeteria for munching. In terms of sporting facilities, there was a volleyball court, a basketball court, a small ground and a tennis complex with four hard court surfaces.

The campus life had the magic portion about it because the University keeps academics at top but they never fail to miss the trick at the annual fests. Celebrities were invited and the three-day event used to have every damn thing from fashion show, to skits, to dance. The kind of the delta between academics and campus life was such that students here can have both simultaneously.
