Sushant University B.Tech Review By Jatin Vats

Sushant University formerly known as Ansal University is a renowned name without a doubt. Since I am from Gurugram, I didn’t look beyond Gurugram for engineering as there are enough good colleges here. Some of the colleges like the St. Andrews Institute, The NorthCap University, WCTM, Amity University, and STAREX University. Some of these require a good AIEEE score while some don’t have good facilities. Sushant University fits well in everything that I had in my capacity. Hence, this was the reason for me to choose this university. The university has a nice infrastructure and a nice set of faculties. The only problem I saw was with the placements as they exist but are not up to the mark. Many students of the university, therefore, go for higher studies after passing out from Sushant University. In my batch itself, nearly 30% of the students went for higher studies in some of the most renowned colleges in the country. For that to happen, Sushant University played a huge role as they helped us with our further competitive exams and also supported us in appearing in them.

Academics at Sushant University were fantastic and I am saying so because most universities keep attendance criteria but they hardly follow them. At Sushant University, God forbid if you fail to have the required attendance not just there is a fine but your parents might get humiliated because of you. I have seen that happening with students so before joining please make sure that you are serious about your studies. Academics here are key as the university doesn’t want their students to leave the university without a job in hand or at least the required knowledge even if no jobs. So, the university has done right but some students feel that’s jail and do have complaints with the university.

Since I am not allowed to name them, I will address them differently. However, there are certain professors who were extra skilled while some were least experienced. They themselves had to take the help and when asked about doubts, they will do everything but clear our doubts. Look it’s everywhere because it is a private university after all and not an IIT where they check the credibility of all the professors before they make them permanent. Still, the faculties did well because they all have done M.Tech or M.E. and that is why always endorsed higher studies because they understand the value of having a master's degree.

Don’t go by everything that’s written on their website as things are a little different if not much. Firstly, it is impossible to have 100% placements so that’s one bitter truth. Secondly, 40–50% of students got the offer as the university has criteria set for students to be eligible for placements. So, half the batch was left behind because those who don’t have a certain CGPA, obviously don’t deserve placements. Lastly, the tiers were made as students who did well on all fronts were made to appear first for the interview and rest after them. All in all, the rules were a little tough but quite a few students managed to get dream companies with dream salaries from Sushant University.

There are two hostels inside the campus both located at different locations as one is boys and one is a girls hostel. Both the hostels are guarded by some bouncers and security cameras. No girls were allowed inside the boys' hostel and likewise for girls' hostels too. This is all the information that I can give as I wasn’t a part of the hostel. Some of my friends were and they said hostel rooms and food was appropriate for them to not feel distanced from home.

I can only think of the word ‘beautiful’ because I like nature and Gurugram where nature has been destroyed in the name of development, Sushant University has ensured that they maintain enough greenery on their campus. The university buildings were among the cleanest buildings that you will find. If anyone was seen spoiling them by spitting or throwing garbage, they were issued warnings and a breach of offense in the second instance means they were suspended at least for a week. The university auditorium was great but a little small considering the number of students at the university and the number of events that happened at Sushant University.

By the looks of things, the university was appropriate to enjoy good campus life, if not great. Academics may be the key but after all, it’s NCR, and distancing itself from the glamour was not possible even for the strictest universities. So, there were events in numbers, and students were literally forced to do the things they like. From dancing to debate, for every damn thing, there were events. Sushant University will fetch you a perfect or rather balanced campus life where studies and fun will have their own say.
