Overall it's a good college from academic perspective providing quality education and labs at very low cost. I chose this college to gain deep knowledge in Physics as I have keen interest in it and I want to pursue PhD in it.

In BHU, I am pursuing B.Sc (Hons.) Physics. For admission in B.Sc courses, students have to appear for CUET UG examination conducted by NTA. The eligibility is that you need to have 12th passed. The CUET UG has entrance exams for many subjects but we have to select the subjects required for admission in that course. So B.Sc (Hons.) Maths group, students need to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Now for B.Sc (Hons.) Biology group, students have to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I joined this course as I have deep internet in the Physics Subject and I want to do research in Quantum Theory.

The faculty members are highly qualified. Many faculty members are PhD holders with more than 10 years of teaching experience and others are postgraduate and pursuing PhD simultaneously. Some professors are so much qualified that they are ranked 3rd as a Mathematician in the world. They teach us in a very well manner, explaining all the concepts in a simple way. They tell us that if you have any doubt you can ask. They are very polite and humble.

In terms of placements, it needs to improve a lot.

Yes, I reside in the hostel named ‘Brocha Hostel’. It is for B.Sc 2nd and 3rd year students. For 1st year students, they have been allotted ‘Ramakrishna Hostel’. The hostels are well maintained. It is cleaned everyday to maintain proper hygiene. The electricity and water supply are 24/7. It has been renovated just few months ago. In a hostel room, 2 students are accommodated. Best part is you can choose you room partner by yourself. In a room we get 2 tube lights, 1 fan and floors are well tiled. Although the hostel is very old but it gets renovated on regular intervals so it looks well classy. There is a lot of greenery in the hostel ensuring fresh atmosphere. It has its own ground named Brocha ground. It is a big ground has almost all necessary requirements of sports like cricket pitch, badminton court, volleyball court, kho-kho, etc.

Although this campus was made around 100 years ago but since it gets renovated from time to time, it does not look so. It is a very big campus (around 1300 acres). It has many faculties i.e. faculty of science, faculty of arts, faculty of social science, faculty of commerce, faculty of law, faculty of agriculture, IMS and IIT. In science faculty, there is a Lecture Theatre Complex (LTC) where all classes are held. There are different buildings for each individual department i.e. Statistics, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Computer Science, etc. In each department the labs of UG and classes for postgraduate students are held. Similar structure for other faculties. There is a library in each of these departments. There is also a Central Library named ‘Sayajirao Library’ where all the students can go and study. It's a huge library having millions of books. Recently a new building is also made for central Library to accommodate more students.The cyber library opens from 10 AM to 8:45 PM. There is also a cyber library just behind central Library. It has more than 500 computers. Students can go there and study. It's open for 21 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 AM next day. There is an auditorium named ‘Swatantrata Bhavan’ where any program or seminar or fests are held. There is a Student Health Centre where BHU Students gets medical facilities at free of cost. It's open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There is also a hospital named Sir Sunderlal Hospital where BHU students can get 50000 Rs. Medical facilities at free of cost. There is also NCC facilities available here having all three NCC facilities.

Overall, the Campus life is average. Although the crowd is good as the entrance exam is an all India exam, So students from different states come. Students of Nepal and Bangladesh can also come to study. But only few students get hostels due to limited hostels available.
