As said by the motto of the college "Let your Light Shine", Loyola College made me more effective, efficient and enthusiastic on all skills useful for both academic participation and life. As an Institution with National and International labels this college creates a very good environment for education. It not only offers education but also makes future leaders by their teaching and preaching. As alumni of Loyola College I feel really proud and satisfied for choosing such a wonderful college. Whoever wants to get boosted and know their inner potential, choose Loyola College for your future to be bright.

I studied BA History, in Loyola College. Entering into Loyola College is not so easy, but for me fortunately it was much of ease. I scored only about 80% in 12th and my friends with still lesser percentage got seat with me. Since, it is a Christian minority institution, more preference is given to Christians than other students, but there were no discriminations after entering the college. It’s just for reservation. History might have been a course for weak in the past but in changing generation people with interest come to take History.

History Department function both shifts in Loyola College. Shift one is aided and shift 2 is self aided. I studied in shift 2. The faculty in both the shifts is effective teachers. They ambitiously would kindle our inner true potential. Their teachings are interesting. They use electronic gadgets, presentation, field trips, documentaries, and whatever they could to enhance our knowledge on the subject.

In Loyola College there is a special Cell for Placement whose core function is to give placements to students. We just have to register in Placement cell through ERP portal and we get invited for interviews by mail through placement cell. Placement is way better than other arts and science colleges.

My hometown is Pondicherry. I stayed in hostel for 3 years. Loyola College hostel is one of the best affordable hostels in Chennai. They have also constructed new Block with better facilities for students. All blocks are governed by Additional directors and overall managed by Director. The hostel had got a great infrastructure, like 4 mess, washing area, bathing area, toilet area, ground, office block, Gym, indoor sports area, study area, etc. There are selected student representatives like Mess sectary, sports, etc through election. Loyola Hostel is a very ambient place for education, sports, friends and it feels like a home away from home.

Loyola College being in the heart of Chennai spread in 100 acres is well infrastructure college with separate buildings for Arts, Science, Computer, Chemistry, B.Com, Management, Engineering, Education, etc. It has got a big library with e-resource service for student’s access throughout the year. It has also got ample space for sports grounds for cricket, volleyball, football, Kabbadi, indoor badminton court, table tennis, etc. It has labs, workshops, halls, parks, post office, bank, canteen, shops, etc.

The overall experience in Loyola College was amazing. I could never forget my experience in Loyola College. The college holds a large amount of students and faculty but it never seemed crowded because of the ample space and infrastructure. It has got NCC, NSS, enviro club, science club, workshops, etc. for making students involved in extracurricular. A large number of cultural activities also occur in this college like Ovations, Pongal fest, Onam fest, Diwali, Hostel day, Christmas, etc. Loyola College keeps all the students engaged in all activities including Education, Cultural, Sports, team works, presentations, etc. I was never left idle in Loyola College, it made me realize my inner potential.
