I will use a short form as the name is too long. APIM was a good institute for the people of Delhi as the institute has been built superbly and has taken great care of students in terms of academics. APIM is definitely not an A grade B-School and therefore, students who haven’t appeared for entrances or those who scored less join APIM or such institutes. I dearly wished to join NMIMS or SIMB but probably wasn’t that intelligent. Not many complaints from APIM though as institute may not have done well in terms of getting student placed but have marketed themselves really well. Everyone in and around Delhi knows this institute. If you don’t get placed through campus, you will still find yourself a decent enough job off-campus as APIM is no mug when it comes to B-Schools. The college has a uniform which was quite cool but the tie combination was quite poor. If you want a high-profile role in MNCs, just forget it because you won’t get it from APIM.

APIM’s education system was great, but this trimester system was beyond me. I will blame this pattern as this pattern hasn’t let students develop. To complete the subject, the faculty has no choice but to be superficial. You can never go deep into a subject; otherwise you will miss out on other subjects. Even in this tight schedule, the college found time to give students as much practical exposure as possible. So, one need to respect the college because only the syllabus won’t make you a management student. The college firmly believed in this idea, and therefore like almost all the B-Schools, two industrial trips a year and a summer internship at the end of 1st year was a compulsion laid out by the college.

APIM had some really good faculties and some Mr. and Mrs. Nags. The good ones will speak positively and take lectures that will make you go deep into the subject, and if you have any doubts, they will take extra time but make sure students are sure about the topics. The Nags one’s class will make you yawn throughout as only they could understand what they were teaching. So, it was a 70-30 affair as 70% of them were really good, but the nags one spiced up things.

Placements were not satisfactory, but at least the college has managed to provide some sort of placements. Companies like Kent RO, Amazon, and ICICI Securities hired 50 out of 140 students. You can get placed in these companies even after good graduation. The average salary offered was 4 lakhs per annum, and 2-3 students from engineering backgrounds got a job worth 8-9 lakhs. I know you see invincible figures in their ads, but you can ask anyone from our batch, this is the reality of placements.

I see it as the funniest part to review. The college has hostel facilities in place, but the college's capacity is 360, and only 140 took admissions. 140 of them were from Delhi NCR, so what will they do of hostels? Rather than investing in hostels and wasting money on huge ads, they should have done something that would have helped them with placements.

The college is less in space, and still, the college’s parking area was consumed by college buses. We had to park our vehicle outside the gate as there was hardly any parking space left. Then comes the lavish building, which is no less than the Radisson building as the reception area is better than that of a five-star hotel. If the classrooms are converted into rooms, they will look better than any hotel rooms. The six-floor building was no short of being called a show-stopper. The auditorium was a mini-multiplex as it was so damn good. From seminars to workshops, everything was arranged there. A mini-clinic was there, and students could consult the doctors there at free of cost. The top floor open cafeteria served coffees at the price of CCD and Barista. Thankfully, there were coffee vending machines on the 4th and 5th floor, and students could have as much coffee as they want at free of cost.

Classes were so easy going that we hardly talked about them once we were done with the classes. Workshops arranged were entertaining, and more than that entertaining was the annual fest. Due to a smaller number of students, participation became mandatory. Even the teachers used to perform and entertain the students. So, campus life, on the whole, was entertaining and one that deserves full credit for making things cool and calm for the students at the campus.
