Since APIM is an autonomous college, the PGDM course content was up to date. So, I will give full mark for that but the challenge is getting placed from here. Even with such fewer students the placements aren’t that great of the college. The college’s PGDM IB is their best course because MBA and PGDM’s other specialization didn’t even have the entire batch. The fees was 8 Lakhs and will say was on a little higher side because we were taken on just one tour in two years and also for laptop students had to pay extra. For those who had their laptops were not forced to buy one. It was tough getting all the software from the lab because it took me around a week to get them installed in my laptop. The management was cool as they supported us throughout and if we had some small demands, they never shied away from getting it done for us.

IB was such a vast course that clearing 6-7 subjects every trimester that also included assignment submissions and projects completion was too tough to handle. Luckily, we had backlog exam clearance cell and we could give backlog exams every month. Very few students cleared all at once. Education wise the course was brilliant as we were taught all thick and thin of the course. IIFT Delhi which is one of the best colleges for IB doesn’t even have course as advance as we had.

Just close to 10 faculty for our course as some faculties were working in double shifts because they taught more than one subjects. I came to know that many qualified and best faculties have already left the institute and that was perhaps the reason why just half the students took admissions here when the capacity of PGDM was high. The college needs to address this problem because this is like playing with children’s career. No complain with the faculties that were there but IB is a special course and for that special faculties are required.

Not more than 40% students of IB were placed through campus and this was indeed the highest among all. Means those who did regular MBA or other PGDM specialisations were hardly placed. For placements 12-15 companies came and all the students were asked to sit for them irrespective of the specialisation. All major banks in India like the HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and Kotak Bank have come for placements. The placement packages were also not so great as CTC of 6 lakhs meant just 3.5 lakhs in hands. Most jobs were offered in Delhi NCR and a job of such figure counts for nothing. I was mighty disappointed with the placements as for those who didn’t had the placements, my heart goes out for them. I know a few of my batch mates who are still trying to get a suitable job.

Hostel facility is there but we were clearly told that hostel admissions will happen a month later the college admissions. The outsiders were so less as people outside Delhi NCR don’t even know that such a college even exists. Because the students were so less, they decided to not open the hostels but helped us getting a good flat close to the campus. Even they haven’t helped, it is quite easy to find a room in Delhi as Jasola the area in which the college is located, one can find rental apartments easily.

I don’t have any spoilers for the college buildings because it was tip-top. The campus is the building and some space close to that which was used for parking. However, only two-wheeler parking for student was allowed and those who brought their cars had to park it outside the college. The college building ground floor was the reception area and Principal’s office. The building was a six floor building with auditorium, meeting halls, a smoking corner, and a canteen. There was also a small clinic inside the campus building and that helped me on couple of occasions as check-up was free over there. Even the medicines were available at the discounted rate at the small chemist shop in the building.

Life could have been more fun had we not have to do so many meaningless assignments. I still remember that I had hardly stepped out of the building during the college hours because it was chilled and to beat Delhi’s heat which exists for the most part of the year, there was no better escape than the campus building. Professors and student’s events were organized and even in the fests, the faculties participation was seen. So, APIM is the only place where fest is not open for just the students but for the faculties as well.
