Review of Vel Tech

Overall Rating
I will say the overall rating for the college will be 3/5. The college is like an all rounder covering everything. I joined this college because of its fee structure which is comfortable to me. I will not tell others to follow me but instead of going for high end college it's better.
 

Academics Rating
There is no entry requirement for joining the college but for scholarship you have to write a test. Phase one occurs in January where there is a high chance for scoring and having a fee reduction with scholarship. The class strength is 60.
 

Faculty Rating
The Teachers are average in terms of knowledge but they are quite helpful in some cases. There are some faculties who are very well knowledgeable but they are strict though. Most of the teachers have basic degree. The Teaching style of the teachers is never the same.
 

Placement Rating
The Eligibility Criteria is different for every company. There are around 90 companies that visit the campus every year. The no. of offers made will be different for every company. The Highest Package is 46 Lakhs per annum by Amazon and the Lowest was 2.65 Lakhs per Annum. The Average Salary is 4.5 lakhs per annum. Around 70-90% students are getting placed according to College and There is a different branch for Students who are planning of Higher Studies. Currently I am going with Placements due to my family issues.
 

Hostel Rating
The Hostel Facilities are decent. The rooms are of good size but the furnishing is basic. The bathrooms are well maintained. The food quality is better than other colleges. The food at night contains chicken in different types for 6 days. There is a separate mess for vegetarian food. The quality of classrooms, the availability of different libraries for each department is good enough and the requirement of an ID card is necessary to access the libraries. There is good number of books available in every department.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The classes are good enough but high expectations are not good. Each Department has their own Library with many books available to read. Don't Keep on Expecting. If anybody wants to go for sports through college it is not the place for you. Other than that everything is ok.
 

Campus Rating
The main fest of a college is called 'Lavaza,' which will be conducted during February and March. There are various clubs for sports and extracurricular activities like singing, dancing and student-run groups such as the Photography Club, etc.

    I am student of Electronic and Communication branch of my college. Vel Tech University is located in outer side of Chennai. My college is overall 7 out of 10. There are many pros and cons of college Here faculty are very biased with people. It depends upon your spoken language and behavior like I am person who come from north Indian state so I faced a lot problem initially but if you catch up with it you can go for this college.     Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai has a good infrastructure and I feel like it does not need to be improved. I wish that the academics could be developed for Mechanical and Civil Engineering.     Vel tech University has ranked 86th in the NIRF. It is an institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. They have all the courses and degrees like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Ph.D, etc. The campus is great but overall, its average due to management change and rules being stricter.... Read Full Review
