Remeniscing My Journey in Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai

Overall Rating
Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai has a good infrastructure and I feel like it does not need to be improved. I wish that the academics could be developed for Mechanical and Civil Engineering. However, University ambience needs to be improved and hostel should maintain some strict rules and regulations for student safety.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Electronics and Communication Engineering and the faculty was good and admission eligibility criteria is that you should have scored 75% in your 10th and 12th. Admission process is simple and semester exams are conducted from time to time. This course helped me in real-life for time management. Also, the frequency of exams is good and the re-exams are conducted based on internal exams. The internal exams are considered to be very important.
Yes, fee structure of Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai, is good when compared to other Universities. Yearly, tuition fee is around Rs. 3,10,000/- and for hostel it is Rs. 1,42,000/- and scholarships based on your percentage in 12th. Additionally, I heard that students who have good rank in VTUEEE get 50% to 75% discount on tuition fee as a Scholarship.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty in my department are friendly. The way they respond to students was pretty good. Teaching methods used by them mostly includes theoretical explaination, followed by practical classess. The faculty have done Ph.D. in core subjects so they teach well.
 

Placement Rating
Placement training is provided to the students. However, placements should be improved.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel should be developed and maintenance should be improved. Rules and timings should be strictly followed.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is up to the mark and transport system is good. The University’s classroom and labs are very good and no improvement is needed there. The Auditorium and Convocation hall can accommodate a high number of people which is why it was the main attraction of the University. The University has canteen too.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life was very good and I cannot say anything bad about it. University crowd was huge. The fest and events are the main attractions in the University and activities were very much encouraged so according to me it was great.

    I am student of Electronic and Communication branch of my college. Vel Tech University is located in outer side of Chennai. My college is overall 7 out of 10. There are many pros and cons of college Here faculty are very biased with people.     Vel tech University has ranked 86th in the NIRF. It is an institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. They have all the courses and degrees like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Ph.D, etc. The campus is great but overall, its average due to management change and rules being stricter.... Read Full Review
