Some Hidden Facts About Jadavpur University

Overall Rating
First of all I would like to say that Jadavpur University is one of the best and budget friendly universities in India. It is one of the best in terms of return of investment. As I belong to a middle class family I had chosen this university instead of NITs and other colleges.
 

Academics Rating
In terms of academics also this university is one of the best. All professors are well qualified from renowned universities. So no need to hesitate about academics, its overall good. For admission to this university you need to give WBJEE exam which is almost JEE Main level. Almost 1 lakh students appear for this exam every year.
 

Faculty Rating
Jadavpur University has total 15 engineering departments. All these departments have sufficient faculty members. All faculties are well educated and highly qualified. Most of the faculties had done their Ph.D from foreign universities and their BE from JU. They teach in English, Bengali or Hindi; if you are not comfortable in Bengali or Hindi then they will continue with English, so don't worry about any communication gap.
 

Placement Rating
Most of the departments have almost 100% placements with a good average package.
 

Infrastructure Rating
To be very honest the infrastructure of JU is not that good actually. All the buildings are old. But now they are working on infrastructure. We have separate buildings for every department. Also we have a central library and other departmental libraries. Also there are so many canteens with every types of food at cheap price.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life of Jadavpur University is awesome. The campus is covered with many trees and flowers. Also there are many technical and cultural fests that are organised by the students like Uturn, Sanskriti, and Srijan. So overall you will experience a good campus life here.

    Jadavpur University is tier 1 university and it is better than few IIT's and NIT's. Most important thing that you get here is JU tag. Alumni network is amazing and has very helpful Senior.     It has been less than a year that I joined this university. Till now, my experience is one of mixed feelings. The placement stats of Information Technology (my branch), very less fees compared to 99.9% of engineering colleges in India, language (Bengali), and good academic culture and to be honest familiarity with the city of Kolkata were the main reasons that compelled me to join this university out of the options that I had at that time.     Our university is a tier 1 state public university with NIRF 2024 rank 12th in Engineering Category. Placement is very good (up to 100%) in some departments like Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. Overall placement was 95% last year.     The overall experience of the university is superb. I'll describe each aspect in the later section but here let me give an outline of my experience. Jadavpur University offers the best ROI in India, the fees is just 2400 and getting an average placement of 10 LPA (20 LPA for CSE). There's no 75% attendance policy, 45-50% is enough.     Jadavpur University is one of the most prestigious institutions of India, particularly known for its Engineering courses. It gives a great university life experience and much boost to the carrier opportunities. It has the NIRF ranking of 12th in the year 2024.
