I joined J.D. Birla Institute in 2018 after completing my high school. I enrolled in the B.Com program with a lot of enthusiasm. With state-of-the-art facilities, top-notch faculty, exceptional rankings and commendable placement rates, this institute was one of my top choices of college for admission. This place provides a suitable learning environment for different types of learners where students get personalized attention. The attendance criteria being strict, students attend majority of the classes that contribute to extensive classroom learning under the mentorship of professors. The college organizes various seminars and events that help in the holistic preparation for students over the duration of the program. Students are encouraged to participate and take the centre stage which motivates them as well as those around them to work hard and prove their worth.

The minimum eligibility criterion to enroll for a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce is to have minimum 55% marks at 10+2 level. The exact entry criteria depend on the pool of applicants for the particular session. The institute publishes up to 3 admission lists, which provides an opportunity not only to academically meritorious but also to the hardworking and dedicated students as well. The admission process gives weightage to extracurricular participation, sports, volunteering activities, etc. also, which gives an added advantage to students. The final selection of candidates is based on an interview round where a panel of teachers examine the basic subject knowledge of the candidate. At the time of my enrollment, program spanned across 3 years where students were given the opportunity to choose a specialization in the final year among Accounting and Finance, Marketing, and HRM. The curriculum also includes an internship where students get the opportunity to get hands-on training and apply classroom knowledge in real-world situations. The admission criterion for a Master’s degree in Commerce is to hold a Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related field with at least 55%.

The institute boasts highly qualified faculty members with extensive knowledge of subjects. Faculty members include those with PhD as well as professionals such as CAs, CS, and many more. The best part about the faculty is their approach to teaching that involves many one-to-one interactions and Q&A sessions. Students get to learn a lot through classroom discussions and it builds their confidence to solve complex problems with an ease. With a well-maintained student to teacher ratio, students get exclusive attention with scope for doubt clearing. Teachers are always welcoming and encourage students to learn by doing even if it involves making mistakes. Classroom lectures are combined with presentations, peer teaching, group discussions, and projects that enhance the overall learning experience.

Yes, the institute has a dedicated placement cell that assists students to curate resumes and find jobs that match their interests and profiles. The placement officer is very approachable which makes it easy for students to acquire jobs at the top firms in industry. Some of the top companies that recruit students from campus include Deloitte, PwC, EY, etc. The placement packages range between 4-6 LPA for freshers. To simplify the recruitment process, the jobs are forwarded to interested candidates with all the details and procedures mentioned and guided assistance from the placement cell is available for all students.

J.D. Birla Institute has a simple structure that houses various departments within the same building. Classrooms offer a seating capacity of 50-75 students. There are various labs within the campus for different departments. The campus is also home to an auditorium that offers space for conducting various seminars, events, and workshops. There is a recreational area within the campus with a canteen where students can spend time in between the classes. Every classroom is equipped with modern teaching tools such as projectors and white boards.

There are various clubs at J.D. Birla Institute including a NSS Wing, Nature's Club, Writing club and Debate Club among others. Students are always enthusiastic about participating in the events. The crowd at the institute is lively. Various fests are organized by each department throughout the year, which keeps students engaged. The anti-ragging policy makes campus safe for students. The campus is under CCTV camera surveillance that ensures added security. The location of the campus makes it easily accessible from various locations in the city.
