Pros and Cons of R.V. College of Engineering

Overall Rating
This college is the top college. You are obviously going to find the top students here. However, the facilities and infrastructure of the college are not up to mark. College life is average.
 

Academics Rating
There are 4 ways of taking admission in this college: KCET (Karnataka Domicile only), COMEDK (all Indians), Management Quota, and NRI Quota (20 lakhs for 4 years). The academics in this college are very hectic. If you manage your time properly, you may get some free time. There are 4 exams in one semester including 3 CIEs and 1 end semester. The best 2/3 CIEs will be considered for grading. Grading here is absolute. A CGPA of 8.5+ is good.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is highly qualified with many professors holding degrees from institutes of national importance like IISc, IITs, etc. It would be good if they use their full potential while teaching.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do have a placement cell. The most attractive part about RVCE is its placements. The placements are at the level of NITs. CSE branch’s average package is 20 LPA and ECE branch’s average is 15 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have hostels in RVCE. The rooms are double sharing for freshers. There is place to play badminton. The food is decent. North Indian students might face some issues during their initial days as it mostly has South Indian food options. This year, a new hostel has been constructed, which is about 2 KM away from the college. It has excellent infrastructure and has great variety of food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the college is average. Labs are well maintained. Each department has its own building. Buildings are very old. There is construction going on here. The campus however is filled with greenery. There are many good spots to chill out. Sports facilities are under construction
 

Campus Rating
College life is bit hectic in RVCE because of the academics. Talking about clubs, they are very good. We have technical as well as non-technical clubs like Coding, Racing, Robotics, Dramatics, Singing, etc. We have a fest called ‘8th Mile’, which is good. However, it gets organized every 2 years.

    RVCE Bangalore is an amazing College. The infrastructure of the campus is good. It also has strong alumni network. Most of the faculties are helpful and understanding.     The overall experience at the college was amazing. The college takes exam every month but it builds your character as well. I chose this college because it is well reputed and has well qualified teachers as well.     RVCE is a very well-known and respected institute of Bangalore. Since I have been living in Bangalore for the past 13 years it was on my list. I chose RVCE because the placement statistics were really impressive, and it is situated in the IT hub Bangalore. However, after joining the college I realized how placement oriented the college is and how much academic pressure they can put.     I personally like every aspect of the college, right from their curriculum to their faculty. There are many opportunities for students aspiring to be great engineers.
