Manipal University B.Tech Review By Yash Gupta

I am a 2nd year student in B.Tech (Biotechnology). Life had been pretty good for me until now. I have had fun and faced hardships as well in my career. I think every student at least once in their life should live in a hostel. I chose this institute because it was near to my hometown and since I was a NEET aspirant before this, and most colleges did not have any B.Tech degree for biology students.

I was a NEET aspirant before joining the college. I didn't get any college in my NEET attempt and since I was a biology student, I didn't have many career options. I was stuck and didn't know what to do. Then I searched and found that Manipal University, Jaipur had a B.Tech degree in Biotechnology specifically for those with biology assignment as their primary subject. I had taken direct admission by filling the form online, but you can also visit the university for the same or get a seat by clearing CUET or REET.

Faculties at MUJ are highly educated and really supportive. Every faculty has their own teaching methods. They already know where the student would have a doubt. Some teachers are really friendly with the students while some are strict. Every faculty has their own cabin, and they are available most of the day.

I stay in the hostel allotted by the university. It is not mandatory to stay in the hostel and you have the option if you want to stay in any other hostel. Hostels are repaired around every 4-5 months. Our hostel block has vending machines that run 24/7. We also have fire extinguishers after every 2 rooms for use in case of emergency. The hostel has various sports facilities like volleyball courts and basketball courts, but my friends and I prefer to go to the recreational room which has 8 ball and indoor games.

The campus of MUJ is pretty big. It consists of 18-20 buildings. I know this because a miniature of this is placed in the first academic block. The best sight is the administrative block which is a Dome-shaped building. We have 3 academic blocks and 1 administrative block. There are speed gates at entry and exit. We have 4 cafeterias, 1 in each block. We also have some famous outlets like CCD and Nescafe in the campus.

Life at campus is pretty tiring but also fun. It's not because we don't have facilities but because of the studies. We have to write assignments, lab journals and sometimes we even have to perform experiments in the lab. And after the classes are over, we have to do the work for the clubs. I have joined the eSports club, so I have to practice on my phone after the classes. The best time to relax is after dinner. If you stay in the hostel provided by the university, then you don't have to worry about getting bored. Fun activities are always going on in the hostel campus and you definitely don't want to miss the club rivalry, it's pretty heated and funny at the same time.
