Ness Wadia College of Commerce BBA Review By Pranav Maithani

Ness Wadia College of Commerce is one of the best Colleges for BBA in Pune. Luckily there was no entrance during our time, but it is in place now. The cut off during our time was 86% for general category students of other states while 79% for the students from Maharashtra. For BBA, there are many Colleges that you can consider. BMCC, MITSOM College, Symbiosis, and Flame University. Flame is good, but they charge higher than Symbiosis is the best College for BBA in Pune. To uplift and motivate the student's induction program is being organized at the campus. The first year of College was full of activities as time passed nothing much happened because the studies started taking their dues. Wadia campus life is as good as campus life in Symbiosis. The College is old and the buildings are poor but the BBA building is the latest entrant of the campus and is as good as the Symbiosis buildings.

While watching BBA students playing the entire day, I felt so envious because the attendance of 80% required in BBA. Along with BBA, we are provided guest lectures on some of the most important topics like GST, Stock Market, Cyber Security, and Women Empowerment. As BBA students, what do we want? Some good internship opportunities this is where Ness Wadia has aced it. From the 1st year, we can avail of internship programs as the College has a special cell. For internship opportunities, start-up companies keep coming to the campus to hire interns.

Faculties are great as exceptions will always be there. Many new faculties were hired as BBA was started in 2010, so for the Institute, it is still a new program. Faculties helped us in many ways other than studies. The self-study was more prominent in the case of BBA but whenever we needed guidance, the faculties were always there. Most faculties were jolly and that made things quite easy going for both. Students genuinely respected the faculties as, throughout the course, they were available on demand.

No Institute be it Symbiosis or Flames, have 100% placements for BBA. Ness Wadia College too didn’t have 100% placements but placements existed. No other department of commerce had this opportunity for any UG program other than BBA. Placements were in the range of 2-4 Lacs. The placement cell flooded us with forms as they were keener on getting students placed. They conducted presentations and seminars on placements and helped students in every possible way. Some students were so brilliant that they even cracked the 10 lakhs per annum jobs. Such job after BBA is a dream and Ness Wadia is a place where you can fulfill your dreams.

There were two hostels inside the campus. A 6-floor boys hostel and a 4-floor girls hostel. My friends who stayed at the hostel were always crying about the sorry state of the hostel. The water and food provided were unhygienic. Most students used to eat outside the hostel mess because of it. The rooms were acceptable as all rooms were given on a twin sharing basis. The rooms were clean and even though the hostel is old, the rooms are painted every few years and even the furniture is refurbished as and when required. The hostel timings were never implemented as hostel students used to go for late-night movies. I could call my hostel friends at any point in time and they would be there without fail. So, it was as good as staying in a PG as the freedom was full.

The campus is a big old area with a beautiful playground at the front and then comes the main buildings of the College. BBA building was the best as it was built in 2010 and therefore the classes and all were laced with the latest amenities. Our building had a library on the top floor and a small canteen on the ground floor. There’s one more canteen which is huge but again that too was in a sorry state. Not because of the food quality though but the canteen was so big and the tables and chairs were limited. Just outside the College, there’s a beautiful garden which opens at 5 am and many students were seen jogging in that garden.

Many CCA activities go on all year round. Then comes the inter-College sports fest and the annual fest NOSROW. Still, in my view, the best day to be a part of Ness Wadia College is the 14th of February. The whole College is decorated and DJs are called upon. The College has no restrictions as students of various other Colleges too come and sit in our College. Therefore, the College was overcrowded. The only problem was that some of the students were filled with a rowdy crowd as its common in the College in Pune.
