Overall Rating
Being one of the premium institutes of the country, IIT Kanpur's reputation is not something people are not aware of. It holds a place in the top 5 IIT'S because of the quality education, a vast number of opportunities and the comfortable living facilities it provides to its students. Its famous P.K.Kelkar library with a seating of 8,000 is spacious. The air-conditioned lecture halls and high-tech laboratories are just a few highlights of the institute. Apart from the academics, it provides facilities for all extracurricular activities whether its sports or cultural activities.
 

Academics Rating
IIT Kanpur is known for its quality education by the immensely qualified and learned professors. Our undergraduate degree consists of a B.Tech and BS program each of which is of 4 years. There are also Masters and Ph.D programs offered. Being a tech institute it holds the reputation of having the best Engineering branches but additionally it also has great programs for Economics, Statistics, Humanities, MBA, Cognitive Sciences, etc. The teaching system followed here is very much student friendly and is carefully planned for the students to follow.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty no doubt is very qualified and has their education from prestigious schools and universities of the world. They are also very helpful and provide opportunities to work with them on real life projects and machinery. The faculties are approachable and interactive in classes and have a keen excitement to teach the students.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a Placement Cell in our institute. The placements have been very good even in recession. In the year 2024, 579 offers were received including 199 Pre-Placements offers and 13 international offers and these are the statistics of just day 1. IIT Kanpur has the record of having glorious placements and internship seasons each year. Students are offered jobs in various sectors like software, analyst, consulting, finance and core engineering to name a few. Big companies like BCG, Amazon, Microsoft, and Optiver come to the campus for hiring.
 

Hostel Rating
There are a total of 14 hostels in the campus. The hostels are equipped with all the basic needs that a person requires. They are not air-conditioned but you are allowed to keep heaters and coolers with permission. The rooms are shared in single to triple occupancy. The mess food is excellent and hygienic with an option of a canteen in every hall.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IIT Kanpur has a 3-storey library, multiple high tech laboratories, an Open-Air theatre with a seating of more than 1,400 people. It has various club rooms in the Student Activity Centre. It has a swimming pool, gym and PE ground and all the sports courts and equipment. As far as food outlets are concerned, Dominos, CCD and various other eateries are present inside the campus.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, the campus culture is great. Students have a great college life; they have fun in fresher’s competitions like Galaxy, Inferno and Takneek which makes up the General Championship. IIT Kanpur has major fests, Antragani, Techkriti and Udghosh all executed at a very large scale with a footfall of thousands. IIT Kanpur is known for vibrant student life and the one that our alumni miss the most.
