My overall experience has been pretty good till date. Majority of the faculty members are really friendly and are very helpful and approachable. The campus is also pretty well maintained. Our campus is a ragging free campus, and it has strict rules against it. The classrooms are of pretty decent size, each equipped with smart boards. The labs are well maintained and the machines provided in the labs are efficient and up to date. Lifts provided in the campus are not sufficient in number, so you have to wait in long queues for your turn to come, and it gets quite stressful especially during the exams because the only option you have is to climb up 7-8 floors to reach your exam hall. The speed of the Wi-Fi is quite slow. The placement opportunities provided to the students are decent. A fraction of students is placed in big companies like Microsoft and Amazon and the remaining students are placed in decent companies and startups or service-based companies like TCS cognizant, Wipro, etc. with an average package of 3.5 LPA. I chose this college because transportation to this college from my home was pretty simple, the course curriculum seemed to fit well for me, and the fee was also in my budget.

B.Tech is a 4-year course that comprises of 8 semesters and in each semester, there would be 4 exams - 2 class tests of 10 marks each, mid-semester of 30 marks and the final end-semester of 50 marks. The difficulty of these examinations is of moderate level. If you have attended the lectures and have your basics cleared, you can easily manage passing the exams. In order to get admission in SNU, you get admission on the basis of your JEE Mains or WBJEE marks. But in case you have missed those exams or have a poor percentile, you can qualify the SNU’s own entrance test which is of two rounds-first round is a MCQ test and the second one is an interview round. Also, with regard to these you should also have a minimum of 60% marks in your boards’ examination i.e., class X and XII.

The faculty members at SNU are highly knowledgeable and most of them hold a Master's Degree and some of them even have completed their Ph.Ds. Majority of the faculty members are quite friendly and approachable, and their teaching methods are also not limited to just the books. For clearing the exams most of them will provide you with practical knowledge and will teach you how to implement the learned concepts in the real world and what is the need of that particular subject and how that will really be helpful at industry level as well as during placements.

There is a Placement Cell in SNU that provides placement opportunities to the students. The placement rate is not so good in our campus. Firstly, in order to appear for the placements you will have to clear the eligibility criteria, that is you need to have a minimum of 75% attendance in all the semesters, you should have a minimum of 7+ CGPA in all the semester examinations, and also you should have a minimum of 60% marks in your class X and XII boards examination. After you satisfy those criteria, you will be allowed to appear for the placement. Some of the students crack the interview of the renowned companies like Microsoft and Amazon. The average package ranges from 3-3.5 LPA at companies like TCS, Cognizant IBM, Wipro, etc. and the remaining students who are placed in startups get a package of 2.5 -3 LPA.

Our campus has two blocks; the A-block and the B-block (which is newly made and is still under construction). Most of the classes, labs, library, etc. are present in the A-block but at times you can have classes even in the B-block. The overall structure of the campus & the classes are decent but some of the classes need to organized. The college provides facilities like library, canteen, food court, Wi-Fi, gym room, yoga room, etc. There is also a small garden where you can spend your leisure time with your friends.

The campus life at SNU is ordinary. The college doesn't organize fests so often expect for a few events, where celebrities are invited to promote their upcoming movies. Tech experts are invited as a guest lecturer for conducting tech workshops. Apart from this, in our college there a few clubs that you can indulge yourself into like the Coding Clubs including - GDSC, GFG, Skepsis, etc. We also have a Music Club, Dance Club, & a Debate Club as well. Most of the clubs are very active.
