Sister Nivedita University offers a beautiful campus that feels very homely for the students. The campus is small but beautiful and decorated with ornamental flowers. The university students are friendly and welcoming and the university follows anti-ragging which is good for new admission students. Some of my friends read in this university before me, their review of the university encouraged me to come to this university for admission, and yet I’m not disappointed. I think anyone looking for homely university which is strict with the studies and is affordable should look for this best same university. The staff is supportive and friendly, always stepping forward to help the students. The university offers facilities like a well-stacked library, well-equipped gymnasium, properly equipped laboratories for specific department, updated computer mad engineer labs, air conditioning, and food courts. There are regular events in the university and in departments. The university actively participants in inter-university events like Umang, Amiphoria, Xavotsav, Xavrang, Xaviesta, etc. The university has designated basketball court, football, and cricket ground. The size of the ground and sport equipment are sufficient for all round development of students. The dance, theatre, and art clubs of university is very active. Organizing regular sports and cultural events helped students grab accolades in good numbers during inter-university competitions.

I chose B.A.LL.B (Hons.). I’m greatly influenced by my family background to opt for this course and I aspire to be a top lawyer and provide legal aid to my clients. Everyone deserves justice is what I believe. This encouraged me to opt for this university. The university assists students in the course of Law guiding them appropriately to become good lawyers in future and providing many opportunities to intern and face the real life challenges. The university is strict with its curriculum and demands healthy competition from the students. Anyone who has above 60% in 12th board exam is eligible to apply for the university. The students are required to submit proper details and identity proof along with the necessary amount of fee during the time of admission. In Bachelor of Law, there is one exam per semester, which is held once every year so the students appear for semester exam twice a year. Besides that, the student submits assignment as continuous assessment and appears for class tests of every subject once every six months. The academics of the curriculum are focused on the professional relevance. The subjects of the curriculum include Law of Crime, Contacts, Constitution of India, Sociology, Psychology, and Political Science that are very crucial to make a good lawyer. The academics require students to implement critical thinking ability besides memory and discipline. The examinations are not mental burden but require the students to be hard working.

In B.A.LL.B (Hons.), students are required to pay Rs. 20,000 as admission fee, Rs. 10,000 as caution money, and Rs. 63,648 as semester fee. This semester fee remains same for all the upcoming years. The caution money is refundable after completion of the course. The university offers discount as scholarships to top ten students of each class in their semester fee of ten percent. The university also offers scholarships such as Swami Vivekananda merit-cum- means scholarships and Ishan Uday scholarship PG Indira Gandhi scholarship among others.

The faculty to student ratio in our law department is 7:1. The faculty members are knowledgeable and helpful. Most faculty members are lawyers themselves that help guide the students in their career. Many of them are Doctorate holders in Law with vast knowledge and experience in the field. The faculty members use a hybrid teaching method including using whiteboards as well as PowerPoint presentations. The faculty members conduct development of critical thinking by organizing debates regularly on headline topics of current affairs related to law. The faculties are very helpful to solve academic problems of the students. I can recall incident where I could not attend one class assessment due to family emergency but my mentor faculty helped me for re-examination. The faculty members are very approachable, accessible, and available at earliest. During emergency, we can contact them at any time of the day.

The placement cell of the university is very active. The top placement record of the university is 97%. The top companies that visit the university are TCS, Amazon, Deloitte, EY, Wipro, Infosys, and IBM. In my law department big law firms and corporate companies visit to hire lawyers. The students become eligible for placenta in their fourth year having a CGPA of above 7. The average 6.50 LPA and the highest package offered was 51 LPA. In the last year top companies like Amazon, Microsoft and Ashok Leyland visited the campus. I’m looking forward for placement opportunities.

The university offers residential facilities. However, these accommodations are outside the campus in properly securitized buildings. As of now, there are 3 buildings each with 5 floors and each floor having 21 rooms and each room can accommodate 2 students. The food offered to the students is hygienic and healthy meeting nutrition requirements. The entry time of the students is 9:30 PM as it is located in a safe place around Biswa Bangla.

The campus area of the university is 10 acres. There are two blocks: block A and block B. The library is located in block A and the gymnasium is located in block B. Both the blocks are academic building. However, block A incorporates the admission, Management, and Cultural department including Fine Arts. The campus is accompanied by the campus of Techno International Newtown separated by a ground. There is an amphitheatre for hosting cultural events and a basketball court. Seminar halls and auditorium are situated in block A and block B respectively. There is one large canteen decorated in sports theme, several food courts offering various cuisines including Momo, Sandwiches, Bhelpuri, Chaat, Fresh Lime Soda Biryani, etc. The ‘Melbourne café’ offers good dining experience to the students in the campus. The amphitheatre is common hanging spots of the university besides the café and is one of my favorite places. All the classrooms are equipped with air conditioners, fans, white boards, and projectors besides desks for 60 students and a podium for the faculty. The campus is located in a safe place in the hub of Newtown Biswa Bangla, which is easy for students to travel. The presence of projectors in every class help the education by use of audio-visual methods.

The campus life of Sister Nivedita university is fun and thrilling. The university provides a homely ambience for all round development of the students. The university promotes healthy friendship and fellowship among the students. The university crowd is moderately high. There are cultural, technical, and sports clubs in the university. The university organizes and hosts National & International conferences namely ‘Biotalk’ and national conference of nanotechnology hosted recently. Recently, my department is hosting National conference on rights to mental health focusing on the North-east India. The university organizes fests every year. Recently ‘AIU fest’ was organized and held in the university. I feel homely in this university my home being 144 KMs away from the city. I have made friends and look forward to do well in my career.
