Jadavpur University holds the first position in ROI (returns of investment). Students from any stream can join this university and graduate with a bright future. The faculty is recognised globally for their knowledge in their respective domains. It has a notable alumni network that comes in headlines frequently. Though the college has excellent rankings in NIRF, QS, and NATURE, THE etc. I feel that it needs more funds to keep on providing better education. However, it is the placement statistics and low fees which motivated me to join this University.

The curriculum that is taught in JU is aligned to core fundamentals. Any student who studies them honestly is bound to flourish after their college life. To join this university for Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D and Post Doctorate one can appear in various entrance tests that are conducted every year like WBJEE, GATE, UGC NET, CSIR NET, etc. After admission, the student will be required to attend classes, labs and appear in all the internal exams set by this autonomous university to get grade cards and degree after completion in their respective department.

Jadavpur University is renowned for its professors. Professors coming in your class can be from Stanford's top 2% scientist list, moon landings, foreign universities, MNCs, top positions of government departments and other interesting places. They put a lot of effort in teaching as well as clarifying doubts until a student is satisfied. One can also join them in research internships and go places around the globe.

Placement Cell brings companies for placements and internships. The placement cell is monitored by student bodies for transparency. A deserving student is bound to get placed in private as well as government sector.

There are 4 girls’ hostels and 9 boys’ hostels in both the campuses. The hostels provide affordable accommodation to only 1,876 students. Due to lack of accommodation, students from other states and students from humble backgrounds are given priority after a brief interview. First year students are given separate hostels. The infrastructure of the hostel can be improved, food is given twice a day, corridors and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The hostels provide hostel tours twice a year and hostel reunions occur every year. Apart from this, all the festivals of West Bengal are celebrated in the hostel. Hostellers live like a family and are very active in campus events.

Jadavpur University has two campuses one in Jadavpur and one in Salt Lake in Kolkata. Infrastructure in both the campuses is fairly maintained by the government and generous donors. Every department has ample classrooms and labs required. Though the Jadavpur campus is 60 acres and Salt Lake campus is 26 acres, it has all the amenities like Canteens, Auditoriums, Gymnasiums, Playgrounds and Green Zones.

There are many clubs where a student can join to express themselves as well as they can start a club if it is not there, college authorities are helpful. Every student gets a chance to show their talent inside and beyond the campus. Students can freely conduct any kind of festivals (technical, cultural, social as well as political) inside the campus. To summarize this thing I can say, Student power is visible in Jadavpur University.
