Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies BA+LLB Review By Almela Mishra

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies is affiliated to GGSIP University and is recognized by Bar Council of India. MAIMS is also an accredited grade A++ by NAAC. It is one of the best colleges affiliated to GGSIPU and offers numerous courses among five different departments. My overall experience with the institute has been generous and up to standard. The faculty members are good, well versed, and knowledgeable in their respective subject areas. The location brings its advantages to the institute, being situated in Delhi is very beneficial specially for the law students for their good options for career exposure.

The Law Department of MAIMS was established in the year 2017. It currently offers two integrated courses BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.). Entry in these courses is done through CLAT examination conducted by Consortium of NLUs. 85% of the seats are reserved for the domiciles of Delhi. The institute has grown rapidly in short time and is still developing and incorporating new approaches in its academics. The course structure and syllabus of the institute is based upon the guidelines shared by the GGSIP University and accordingly all the lectures are planned. Lectures are regularly conducted and 75% attendance is mandatory. Over the years, strictness has increased regarding the attendance, which is only for the betterment of students understanding that this is a professional course. Every year National Moot Court and National Mock Trial competitions are also held which bring on good exposure and help form connections.

All the faculty members are from good background and have studied from good institutes themselves. Teachers take regular lectures and impart not just knowledge but also share their valuable experience in the field. Many faculty members are willing to help out of the classroom and be reached out at the time of mentorship session. Teachers motivate students though some with strictness but most of them are open for any help they can give for career building.

There is a hostel for boys available in the campus itself with simple and good canteen food. Girl’s hostel as of now is not available in the campus. However, the administration department does provide contact details for other accommodations outside the campus premises.

Infrastructure wise, the institute is satisfactory. It is spread over roughly 3 acres of land and has a green campus. It is comprising of auditorium, football, basketball and volleyball ground along with availability of indoor games. The classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with smart boards, which are helpful in many classes and in presentations. There is separate library for every department and services like banks are also available. The overall infrastructure has all the things that are required.

Campus life at MAIMS is quite happening, once you make friends and indulge in all the participative activities. There are good deals of societies or social clubs that are available including dance, theatre, literature, and modeling clubs. Apart from these, the institute also has a Legal Services Clinic for law students. Overall, campus life is good. There are many places and canteens in the campus to hang out with friends.
