BBA.LL.B Admission in MAIMS New Delhi is Based on CLAT Scores

When I first got Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi during the counselling round, I was quite doubtful whether it would be the right choice or not. Because honestly, department of Law has recently been established so the question whether there is good alumni base or not. In my first year, I half-heartedly attended my classes but gradually I realised that the Institute is actually good. I started enjoying going to the Institute and now I am glad that I did not drop the idea of coming here.

I am pursuing BBA.LL.B and currently I am a second year Law student. I aspire to work in the Corporate field someday that is why I chose this course. MAIMS New Delhi require CLAT scores for admission. The required rank goes up to 12,000, but in the final round i.e. the spot round which is conducted offline at the main campus, the rank goes up to 16,000. The admission process was very smooth. Each semester comprises of internal and external examinations, along with assignments, group activities and presentations. For external examinations, we are allotted a centre which can be in any Institution affiliated with Indraprastha University.

The fees for my course is Rs. 1,41,000/- which is paid annually. The admission fee is paid in two parts, first part is paid to lock the seat and then the other part is paid in the Institute after the whole admission procedure is done. Scholarships are awarded according to CGPA and yes, some fee concession is given to students who belong to the EWS category.

The faculty is really good. They are very helpful and supportive. I enjoy attending classes because the lectures are very interactive and interesting. The teachers try to arrange debates to listen to different opinions which give us a better understanding of others’ opinion and the topic. Our classes have a smart board so teachers often use presentations to teach a topic and sometimes they would show certain videos to make the topic look more fun. Overall, the faculty is good; a feedback form is also filled by students after each semester.

There is a Placement and Internship Cell at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi which works actively. Internship fairs are organised in which Law firms and advocates visit the Institute and take interviews.

Only boys’ hostel is present in the campus. For girls, PGs and flats are available close to the Institute.

Management, Engineering and Law blocks are different. For Law, a new building is built which is really good and tidy. There are separate libraries too. The auditorium is pretty and the campus is good as compared to a lot of other Institutes. It lies in the outskirts of the city, so travelling can be pretty hectic.

The crowd of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi is pretty decent, and campus life is fun once you get used to the surroundings. There are a lot of societies and you can choose as per your interest, and the societies work very actively. Activities are organised frequently by different societies or departments. Annual Law fest is organised and it is fun. The seniors are supportive and bring new opportunities. I am the part of Legal Services Clinic which provides legal aid and spread legal awareness through social drives.
