National Institute of Technology is one of the oldest engineering institute of India which is located at the mid of Raipur city. It was initially Regional Engineering College of India. It is located just 2km away from Raipur junction which makes it more preferable. It has NIRF ranking of 71 in 2024. It has great alumni network because of being old college which helps to get best career related guidance from the alumni. It has also placement cells which help students to grab placement and internship at their final and pre final year of course completion respectively. Last year the rate of placement was almost 90%.

Academic environment at National Institute of Technology, Raipur is quite competitive here because all the students come from after clearing India’s one of the toughest examination JEE. NIT Raipur offers various courses in engineering like Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronic and Communication, Chemical, Metallurgy, Mining, Biotechnology, Biomedical, etc. It also offers master programs in engineering in various branches like Mechanical, Electrical, etc. Also MCA and Ph.D admission is totally based on JOSSA which is based on JEE rank for bachelors programs and GATE score is accepted for M.Tech.

Faculty members are well qualified and having experience with more than 10 years in their relevant subjects. Even few of them are in top 2% researcher of the world. Most of them have done their Ph.D from foreign or IIT. They deliver industry oriented knowledge to the students and also personal attention to the needful students. They also guide us for good career start. They all are very humble. They use both e-media and print media while teaching their course which makes the course easy to understand.

Yes NIT Raipur has its own placement cell which help students in grabbing their placement and internship at their final and pre final year of engineering respectively. Last year the placement was 90% of B.Tech students while for M.Tech students are were not too good. Placement for MCA was also 80% last year. In B.Tech placement except Bio Medical and Bio Tech was not too good while for other branches it was very good. An average package of last year stand at 13 LPA while medium was 11 LPA.

Yes there is also a hostel facility in National Institute of Technology Raipur but hostel allotment is done on the basis of academic performance of the students. For example for the first year students it is based on the JEE Main rank and distance of the home of students and for other years it is based on their academic performance. So National Institute of Technology does not provide hostel to each student. The mess food quality is good and it is run by the students who are staying in the hostel.

Infrastructure is not so good but it is average. There is only one building for engineering students. Regular classes and lab classes for M.Sc, MCA and M.Tech students are held in that building. And for B.Arch students there is a separate building. There is also a library which is fully air conditioned and fully maintained. There are also two separate playgrounds for cricket and football and also for many sports like table tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Campus life at National Institute of Technology, Raipur is really good. We have a lot of clubs and committee in the institute. Raga is the musical club of the National Institute of Technology Raipur, Technocracy which organize technical fest of our institute in which students of many colleges participate .Sanskriti which organizes cultural fest of NIT Raipur and there are a lots of clubs & committees involving mentorship, entrepreneurship, sports, etc. Whenever any event takes place inside the campus then a lot of crowd gathers because it is located at the mid of the city.
