An Overview of Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women

Overall Rating
I chose this college because I wanted a degree in Computer Science and also wanted to study in Delhi University. You can prefer to join this college only if you only want a degree but no job security. Also you have to keep increasing your skills from other sources to be in the market.
 

Academics Rating
At that time I got the admission through 12th board’s results but now you can get admission through entrance exam known as CUET. You can appear for CUET after passing class 12th and also you have to get decent marks in CUET exam.
 

Faculty Rating
Teachers were highly qualified and energetic throughout the course. They mostly focused on theory part rather than practicals. If you have to get placements and a secured job then you have to study from other sources as these courses in Computer Science does not make you market ready. They should focus on practicals also so that students have some deep knowledge about the course.
 

Placement Rating
There is no placement cell in our college. There was not much on campus placements in our college. Mostly students apply for off campus placements and internships.
 

Hostel Rating
There was no hostel facility in our college. I got a rented PG around 500 meters from my college which costed me around 11000 rupees per month including mess also.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure was not up to the mark. There was a shortage of books every time I visit library. But the college remained clean and tidy throughout the day. Other facilities are also not that much developed in the college. Academic blocks are also of average status.
 

Campus Rating
Yes, fests are organised in our college too. Fest occurs once I in a year but not every year in the month of February. There was not that much sports and extracurricular activities on the campus but yes there were some clubs which were not that much active. There was not much focus on extracurricular activities. The crowd of the college is good.

    My experience is quite good, and I like my college as it comes under Delhi University. The infrastructure of the college is very good, and the environment is so quiet.     Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women is an off-campus college of Delhi University. The college is big, area wise, in comparison to various other colleges of DU. Being only a girls college the campus life is not very exciting but if you make good friends the college will be more exciting.
