National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier educational institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. The institute is full of beautiful spots and scenery, here, serenity truly meets the technology. The view of Dal Lake is just breathtaking and with mountains at the background is just cherry on top. Here, you can find peace which cannot be found in other institutes. Overall experience at the campus is really very good and I can bet you will surely make a good career here. The main reason to choose the institute was because of its beauty and inclination towards the technology. Truly it is the most beautiful campus in India.

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offered across 8 different specialisations including CSE, EE, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT, CHE. The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling / CSAB counselling. The allotment is done on the basis of merit score in JEE Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candidate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 – 97 percentile is enough for an OBC or General student and 93% - 90 percentile for SC / ST students. The main motive of enrolling in this program is to make a career out of Technology and learn some excellent skills in the technology field.

The teachers / faculty members in the campus are highly qualified with amazing teaching skills which help every student to grasp the concepts of the topic concisely. Most of the teachers are very friendly and will help you in every field if it's your studies or any other problem. The course curriculum is like it is in all NITs and the institute will also guide you to get the skills required for the placement. Here, every teacher has its own style of teaching. They will teach you a topic and don't move forward without covering all the doubts of the students. They put so much effort to make students give maximum output to pass the exams.

Yes, our institute has a Placement Cell, and it helps the students to acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, LnT and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech to Material related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day about 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 9 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for the CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, IOCL, BARC give internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering perform well in placements as well.

Yes, our institute provides residential facilities on the campus for the students and also for teachers. The hostel here at NIT, Srinagar is just mesmerizing and will be in your memories for a lifetime. Hostels here include Mess Food, 24x7 electricity, a Table, Chair, Bed, Geysers are installed in the bathrooms, 24x7 LAN connections and Wi-Fi. You have to bring your own bucket and mattress which will not be provided. Here till 3rd year, you have to share the room and in 4th year you will have a single room. The infrastructure is very nice, and it provides good facilities for the students.

The infrastructure has its own Kashmiri style. The buildings are well painted in the front but there are some conditions too at the back. The academic blocks are very clean and include all types of laboratories for practical experience. The campus also includes its library where all the engineering books are kept, and students can study anytime between 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Classrooms are well-cleaned and include smart boards and Air conditioners for summers and winters.

Campus Life at NIT Srinagar is awesome and I am not disappointed in choosing this institute. We have clubs in every field from music to photography where you can showcase your extracurricular skills. We have 2 annual fests, a tech fest, and a cultural fest. Games tournaments (Sports and Mobile) are also being held here with other extracurricular activities organized on a regular basis. All the festivals are celebrated with full excitement and joy. The crowd on campus is mostly busy on Mondays but otherwise the crowd is not very dense.
