'Symbiosis' is one of the top names in education in India, but I came to know about this College while I was in the final year of my engineering. I am glad that I did because even though Covid came and placements were delayed a bit but the College made sure that all of us had placements come what may. We use the word bank as often as we use the word momentum because SIT was a bank where momentum never changed. Right after the orientation program, we knew that this is the schedule and this is how things will work here. I would have been happier if only half of it was followed, but trust me; everything was followed as per the schedule. If the faculties felt they were behind, they made us sit till 9 pm in the classes because they had to get done at whatever. The thing with SIT is that you know what you are going to get at SIT and all the students were happy they got what they had come for. Both the things that are placements and quality education were provided wholeheartedly by the College.
Symbiosis has various campuses and in Lavale only they have SIU's campus which has many Colleges in it, but SIT is built separately because engineering students need space. I think it's the biggest learning that any College can take from SIT as separating SIT makes the academic atmosphere so great that you are only surrounded by engineers. Everyone is talking about modern-day innovations, start-ups, funding, and all. For me, the biggest academic learning from SIT was how to survive the competition.
There lies the story of SIT because all the professors here have the initials of PhD before their names. Now, what if the students didn't do well because the faculties were capable of doing not well but the best. Some students were so tired after B. Tech that they gave up, but the faculty didn't, as they kept motivating us and made us learn what engineers can do to this world. Engineers' job is to make life easy not for wealthier men but for common people as well. So, for me, their contribution in making us learn what engineers can do is perhaps the best thing that they have passed on to our generation because we all came to the College to have good placements.
SIT doesn't have to go to the companies and beg them to come to campus. At SIT, placements were different as the companies started fighting among themselves to get the best students. This made our competition a bit less, but before the placements list was out, the Covid came in and things went hay. However, I was at SIT and going empty-handed was not admissible to the College management therefore, they arranged placements for us through online interviews and made sure that in Covid year all the students of SIT are placed with a role that suits a post-graduate engineer.
Block A, Block B, and so on were the names of the hostels at SIT. One such block was only for M. Tech students and that was again the best that College has done. The hostels have 10% extra capacity than they have for admissions. The College may have ambitions of expanding but pre-planning has ensured that even the students who were from Pune can stay at the hostels. The College is indeed far from the city and it takes a fair bit of time to travel and M. Tech students can't compromise on that, so 95% of our class was in the same hostel.
The campus is small as the Engineering College campus is at a different location from the main campus. The campus has a hostel, library, auditorium, and a fair bit of playing area. The amenities were not short for students who wanted to have a budgeted meal; Symbi food court was for them. For those who want to have premium coffee, there's a CCD outlet. The seminar halls were great, and the best was the gymnasium, as it was divided into two portions. Boys' and girls' areas were divided and a small yoga room was also built in the same complex.
Campus life peaked, but the plateau was nowhere to be seen. In hindsight, the College campus looks like a beautifully constructed site full of amenities and students who are way too intelligent to even bother with the things they might have missed out on while staying at the SIT campus. SIT organizes its fest and the students of SIT also perform at SIU's annual fest. Everybody looked at us because engineering students are known for bringing light to such events. So, campus life was good, but with so much at stake, taking time for other activities was hardly possible.

Symbiosis Institute of Technology is a niche name in engineering Colleges. The group is one of the best education pedigrees in the country. SIT is affiliated to SIU (Symbiosis International University) and is located in a small village near Pune called Lavale. SIT deserves all the accolades that are awarded to it, because every year, some or the other awards are awarded to SIT for their proper functioning. Many students dropped out as they didn't have the best of seasons at the College, but that... Read Full Review
