SIT Pune Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

SIT Pune hostels are located within the campus and are separately available for female and male students. In addition to this, there are about 7 hostel blocks inside the Institute’s premises, some of which are called ‘Snowdrop Hostel’, ‘Blue Bell Hostel’, and many more.

The Institute’s accommodations have rooms which are allotted on multiple occupancies and are furnished with necessities such as beds, tables, chairs, etc. In addition to this, the annual Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune hostel fees range from Rs. 2,43,700/- to Rs. 2,88,500/- (including mess charges).

In order to avail the hostel facilities at the Institute, students are required to pay the prescribed fee which differs, in accordance with the occupancy of the room. In addition to this, the seats of the hostels are allotted on the first-cum-first serve basis.

* The above-mentioned hostel fees do not include the mess charges. Along with the hostel fee, students have to pay a refundable hostel deposit of Rs. 20,000/-.

The Institute ensures that a disciplined environment is maintained in the hostel premises, and each of the students reside with convenience & comfort. For the same, it has specified a number of rules and regulations which are mandatory for the hostellers to abide by.

• It is not allowed to stay out of the hostel premises after 10:30 PM as it is the gate closing time of the Institute.
• Residents are required to be present within the hostel premises between 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM for marking their attendance.
• It is strictly prohibited to move, shift, exchange, etc. the hostel furniture from its designated place to another location within the premises without the permission of the wardens.
• It is a responsibility of the residents to be careful of their valuables and belongings & the management will not be answerable for any loss.
• Students are not allowed to shift from their allotted room to another room without the prior permission of the respective head authorities.
• It is strictly banned to engage in any act of ragging inside the Institute’s premises, as it is a punishable offence.
• Hostellers are strictly prohibited to use, consume, share, carry any kind of alcoholic drinks, drugs, cigarettes, etc. on the premises.
• Gambling is strictly prohibited in the Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune hostels.

There are about 4 boys’ hostel blocks of the Institute, from which one is named ‘Snowdrop Hostel’. Along with the same, the SIT Pune Campus also has around 3 hostel blocks for female students and one of them is called ‘Blue Bell Hostel’. In addition to this, the SIT Pune hostel rooms are available in 3 & 4 sharing & contain facilities including an attached washroom, a cot, a study table, chair, mattress, etc.

Moreover, the students can avail a variety of food items from the mess of the SIT Pune hostel. Along with the same, adequate security is facilitated to the students through security checks at the main gate, security personnel, and CCTV cameras across the premises.

Apart from this, prompt medical assistance is provided to the students by the Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) and there are facilities to commute students to nearby hospitals in case of severe emergencies. The hostellers can access gymnasium, Tennis Court, Basketball Court, Football Ground, Badminton Court, Swimming Tank, etc. for engaging in recreational activities.

Students residing in the SIT Pune hostels are also provided the laundry services at nominal charges and they can access ‘Rangoli Grocery Shop’, coffee and juice centre, and such facilities.

To serve hostellers freshly prepared food in multiple cuisines, the Institute’s hostels have a mess. To avail food facilities at the Institute, students are required to pay the mess fees for one year during enrollment to the hostels. Along with the same, the SIT Pune hostel mess fees is Rs. 1,19,600/-, per annum.

There is a Mess Committee which comprises several head authorities of the Institute along with students. It is responsible for deciding the menu of the meals, checking food quality consistently, and improvising on food quality and other dining aspects.

The Institute has prescribed some rules, which students are required to follow in order to ensure adequate convenience while having food in the mess. The details of the mess rules are given in the pointers below:

• Only the students who have registered and have paid the mess fees are allowed to have food in the mess.
• Residents are now allowed to have food brought from outside within the mess.
• To avoid wastage of the food, students are required to inform the concerned authorities about their absence / night out.
• Guests are allowed in the mess only after the prior permission of the Campus Administrator and have to pay the respective charges for having the meals.
• Food will only be served in the hostel rooms, given the student is sick and has a valid medical certificate from SCHC to verify the same.
