Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) is located in Pune, Maharashtra and was established in the year 1983 under the aegis of Society for Computer Technology and Research (SCTR). The Institute is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune and is approved by AICTE.

SCTR’s Pune Institute of Computer Technology is recognised by UGC and accredited by NAAC & National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Moreover, it is certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

PICT Pune is known for its rigorous academic curriculum of the Engineering courses and proven track record in placements.

The Institute offers Bachelor and Master level courses at an affordable fee structure under numerous academic departments. Some of the departments are Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Department of Information Technology.

B.Tech and M.Tech are the prominent PICT Pune Courses and the details of their fee structure (for open category) & academic requirements are mentioned below:

B.Tech

• Total Fees: Rs. 4,82,000/-
• Eligibility Criteria: Qualified PCM MHT-CET or JEE Main along with any one of the following criteria:
  • 12^th Standard or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory along with Mathematics / Biotechnology / Information Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject / Engineering Graphics / Computer Science / Informatics Practices / Agriculture / Business Studies / Electronics / Entrepreneurship as one of the optional subjects. Students must have passed the above-mentioned criteria with minimum 45% marks.
    OR
    A 3-year Diploma of Vocation (D.Voc) in the same or any relevant stream.

M.Tech

• Total Fees: Rs. 1,98,000/-
• Eligibility Criteria: Obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Engineering & Technology or Pharmacy discipline with at least 50% marks. Students should have qualified GATE / GPAT.

* Students should know that only tuition and development fees are included in the aforementioned amount. Apart from this, several other charges such as examination, form fee, etc. need to be paid at the time of admission. Moreover, the tuition fee differs for OBC / EWS / EBC, and other categories.

Note: For admission in the UG & PG courses, 5% relaxation is provided by the Institute for the students belonging to reserved category, EWS, and PWD.

Admission Process

The procedure for PICT Pune admission is completely online and students can apply for the same by visiting its official website. In addition, the admission seats of the Bachelor and Master level courses of the Institute are filled on merit-basis through Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

* Students belonging to OCI (PIO) / NRI / Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) are eligible for the PICT Pune admission process. However, their fees and other criteria differ.

Reservation Criteria

The Institute has reserved some of the admission seats for the Maharashtra domicile students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and other categories. Pune Institute of Computer Technology follows the reservation criteria specified in the table below:

In addition, 5% seats (each) are reserved for wards of defence service personnel and Persons with Disability (PwD).

PICT Pune provides financial assistance to the enrolled students belonging from different categories like SC, ST, OBC, and others. To help students pursue higher education without any financial stress, various Government Scholarships are offered by the Institute. Moreover, only the tuition fee is covered in the applicable scholarship amount.

Besides that, various other scholarship schemes are there for the students whose parent’s income is below Rs. 8,00,000/- and other details are mentioned below:

• Rajashri Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikhshan Shulka Shishyvrutti Yojana (EBC): This Scholarship is offered by Directorate of Technical Education for Open and Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) students who are admitted under EWS category.
• Scholarship for students of minority communities pursuing Higher and Professional courses (DTE): Students belonging to minority communities like Muslim / Buddhist / Christian / Sikh / Parsi / Jain / Jews can avail this scholarship which is provided by the Minority Development Department.
