KIET Group of Institutions: Expert Guidance and Supportive Learning

I joined this institute in October 2023, and since then I have been part of many events that have taken place in and outside of the institute. However, after spending a whole year in this institute, I have realized that this is a decent place to spend the 4 most important years of your life. The institute has a campus size of 19 acres, which does not sound like a lot, but the management has done good use of the limited space that they had. There is a perfect balance of greenery and attractive architecture in the campus. It feels like a modern institute with good academics and good cultural events. The placements of KIET Group of Institutions has been one of the best in all the institutes of AKTU. Sure, in the recent years, the placements have taken a dip, but it is because of recession. This year the placements have improved a lot since last year and I believe the next year, they are going to improve much more. Location wise, this institute might have a disadvantage. It is located 16 KM away from the nearest metro station and that is in the city. You have to take an auto rickshaw and travel for around 45 minutes just to reach the Metro Station. However, the good news is that after the construction of the rapid X line, this time duration has been reduced. Now it is much better connected with the rest of the city.

Every month we have an exam (mostly). In the first month, we have the CT (class test) and after the course is completed, the PUE exams are conducted by the institute (pre university exams). The students having low marks in these exams are made to sit in remedial classes or they are also called gradual learner classes. However, the plus point is whatever is taught in the classroom, it definitely comes in the university exam question paper. It is almost guaranteed. To take admission in this institute for B.Tech, you have to give JEE Main exams and secure a good rank. KIET is one of the best AKTU private institutes and definitely one of the top ones in the NCR region.

The faculty members are actually knowledgeable. We have multiple PhD holding professors here whose knowledge is reflected through their teaching. The teachers usually tend to stick to the books, but the questions we are taught in the classroom are definitely asked in the university exams. They are very helpful in nature as well during examinations. They are always ready to solve doubts of their students and whenever we have any other issues as well, they are ready to help us there also, especially if the students are having attendance issues.

We do have a placement cell at KIET Group of Institutions and it is very active during the third and fourth year. I am still in the second year so I do not have the resources to back this information but I was told by one of our seniors that the top scoring students of the batch are made to take special placement classes, which helps them, get ready for interviews and placements. They are made to solve coding questions and give mock interviews as well. I think since the last year, the placements have improved a lot even though we are going through a recession.

The hostel life is one of the best experiences of this institute. This is because the first year hostel is the best hostel I have ever seen. The rooms were so spacious and comfortable; they have specific cupboards for the students. Hostels have multiple seating options, which students can demand according to their needs. 2, 3, or even 4 seater rooms are available with the option to install an AC in their rooms. Of course for that the students have to pay a little extra, whatever the cost of the AC is divided by the number of students living in the room. The mess food is above average. The best meal of the day is the lunch, everyday without any doubts. The dinner is the most mediocre. Breakfast and evening snacks are good. The hostels have a Wi-Fi connection, which all the residents of the hostel can use by logging in with their institute ID. Regular attendance of students is done during the nighttime to make sure that they are disciplined and everyone is doing fine.

Infrastructure wise, the institute is gorgeous to look at. There are multiple blocks where different classes of different branches are held. All of the blocks have good infrastructure. They have spacious classes properly ventilated corridors, charging ports on the desk, air conditioning units installed in every classes and in the newer blocks, the air conditioning is centralized. We also have smart boards in almost all the classes. Apart from the academic blocks, there are three different cafes around the campus. They are open from 10 AM until 10 PM in the night. We also have a multipurpose complex where student can purchase all the things that they need in their day-to-day life. The owner of The multipurpose complex is a friendly man who talks to the students like he is their big brother. There are beautifully designed common areas as well, where students can sit around and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the campus in their free time. We have a cricket ground as well as football ground, lawn, tennis board, badminton court, a basketball court, a volleyball court. Therefore, the students here can make good use of their time engaging in sport activities. We also have a temple in the premises of the institute. The students can visit the temple in the morning or in the evening to bless their day.

The campus life is overall above average. We have a decent crowd and the people here are friendly. We have multiple clubs with the students can join according to their interests. We have movie clubs, drama clubs, music clubs, tech clubs, cultural clubs, et cetera. All the clubs start recruiting in the beginning of the academic year. Students of these clubs regularly participate in different competitions in different institutes all over the country and they are very frequently the prizewinners. We have one annual fest, which takes place in the month of April. It is called “Epoque” and to check how good this fest is, you can see various videos on YouTube to get a glimpse of it. As far as other engagement activities are concerned, the sports amenities in the institute are also good.
