My Opinion on TMI Pune: Best Infrastructure & Education

Overall Rating
This institute provides 100% placement for all eligible cadets who have cleared their backs or having no backs. The faculty is top notch; they provide their experience, which they gained from sea helping the cadets learn more and stay motivated. Classes are arranged from 8 AM to 4 PM. There are very strict rules and regulations, which help students be in discipline.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B. Tech in Marine Engineering and to enroll in this course, you'll need to clear IMUCET and TMISAT which comprises of a 15 minute interview and written test of about 50 marks. After filling the form, the test is taken within 1-2 weeks and admission process and documentation will start after the results of IMUCET. Generally 1st years join the institute in mid of July. Exams are conducted every month to test the ability of the cadet.
4-year fee for my chosen course is approx. 25 Lakh, and if we calculate year wise it would be approx. 6.5 Lakh. Scholarship on merit as well as need basis is also there.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are well trained, most of them are Retired Captains, Chief Engineers, or Commanders who served the Indian Navy as well as in Merchant Navy. They share their experience with us. They teach us through Blackboard as well as through PPTs. Teachers conduct tests every month to know to understanding of the Cadet. If a cadet fails or scores less, the staff takes extra care.
 

Placement Rating
100% Placement for all eligible cadets who cleared all their subjects is there.
 

Hostel Rating
Institute has 3 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. Mess food is awesome, faculties have their lunch there with the cadets during lunch time.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 5 blocks for academics, namely, In campus Ship, Workshop, Annex Block, EBCL and Admin Block. Classrooms have central air conditioners. There are various sports facilities like Football Grounds, Swimming Pool, Track, Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Squash Court, Table Tennis, Cricket and many more. There is a sickbay for medical checkup of the cadets. Stationary, grocery store and cafes are also there.
 

Campus Rating
This is the best life I'm having. There's no crowd in the institute as there are separate hostels. There are more than 20 clubs in the institute. Fests Like ‘Horizon’ are conducted for 6 days. Freshers party is also there. The institute provides everything a cadet will need in his life. Every year the institute takes cadets to Industrial visits for better knowledge.

    Tolani Maritime Institute is a good college and one of the best colleges in India for Merchant Navy. It has good architecture and good facilities which help the cadets to study practically well in all subjects. As for the academics, it's pretty decent I would say. Teachers are good and experienced and they have been teaching for 10-15 years minimum. As for other services, hostels are clean and tidy.     As of now I'm in my first year and I'm still getting used to things but so far I've been enjoying my time in Tolani Maritime Institute with all the friends I've made here. I chose this particular institute because it is the best in the country for merchant navy in general. There are other institutes in the country as well but the quality of the faculty and college can only be understood ones you experience it.
