When looking at colleges providing B tech Marine engineering Tolani Maritime Institute is one of the top most recommended and reputed institutes to choose from. When I decided to peruse Marine Engineering after my schooling I began research on all the colleges providing the course and shortlisted some of them, and while doing another detailed review on the same I found out that Tolani Maritime Institute is the best one for me, and that's how I ended up choosing it. I think I've made the right decision on choosing it. It provides all the facilities an aspiring mariner can ever think of, they mould us in the right way and prepare us to become a great seafarer. The training facilities, hostels, food, faculties all are the best you could ever ask for. All the facilities are experienced and well qualified and most of them are seafarers, hence providing the best of the knowledge on topics. There is also an actual ship on campus which used to sail in the ocean once, the ship belongs to the Tolani shipping and gives an actual experience of how it is inside of a ship and around it, which attracted me more.

To enter the college first you have to appear for the IMU (Indian Maritime Institute) entrance exam and there is another entrance text conducted by the college called the TMISAT. Also you should have scored more than 60% for PCM in 12th and good grades for English as well. Then there will be an interview conducted by the college for test of basic communication skills and then after some days you get the admission letter. The process was quite smooth and detailed. Merchant Navy is one of the leading white collar jobs that pay you well as well as gives you much more sence of adventure. Travelling is another plus point for this profession. Choosing this profession will help you develop you both physically and mentally. Improve your lifestyle, fitness, and gives you a lot more idea of the world and an opportunity to experience many cultures, societies, interact with international crew, and many more, in short it will widen your knowledge of the world.

The Faculty teaching us here are well experienced and qualified to say the least. When I say well experienced it means that most of the faculty teaching here were seafarers, meaning they were captains, chief officers, Bosuns, electrical engineers, etc. who have a lot of experience and have sailed a lot. They can provide us with the best knowledge and give us a perfect idea of how it's going to get on board the ship and guide us to become a really good seafarer. They train us in the right path and give all the knowledge ever necessary for a Marine engineer and make us confident to pursue out path. They guide us well, train us well, and give necessary discipline to make us better and always be the best in the industry. All the faculties are highly qualified and has a lot of experience in the field hence making them the best to teach young aspiring seafarers. The teaching style is very good, the students can catch the things easily, and the classes are energetic and interactive hence making it easy to understand things and improve our skills and knowledge.

Yes, we do have a Placement Cell here at Tolani Maritime Institute. The Placement Cell is very helpful and informative. They help us to choose the best and also make sure that we get offered the best companies. They provide with all the information we could ever need to choose an option and make sure that we are on the right track, prepare us for the interview, and give us important points. They are very interactive with the students. Their goal is to provide us with as much information as possible so that it becomes easy for us to shortlist and choose the best jobs.

There are 3 hostels in our campus and all are very well equipped and top of the class. The hostels are neat, have adequately big rooms, cupboards, and all the facilities that are required. Hostels are also equipped with gym faculties, indoor wooden badminton courts, and indoor squash court. The washrooms are neat and well maintained, have hot water all the time. The hostel staff warden's are also very helpful and help us make the best out of the facilities provided there. They also play an important role in moulding us and training us to become the best in industry standards. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, football fields, synthetic tracks, calisthenics area, and all the facilities you could ever ask for. Wi-Fi facilities are provided with adequate speed. Also the food provided is very tasty, and nutritional, with fruits, sweets, different currys, chapathi, dal, non veg, veg, and many options to choose from.

The Infrastructure in the campus is on point, the campus has 3 education blocks, workshops, seamanship labs, emulators, and also has a ship on campus. It was an actual ship which used to sail once. Its name is Prabhu Vidya and gives us a real close view of how it is inside of a ship, and how the things work and all the firsthand experience. The labs are well equipped, safe, and are provided with the best of the facilities and staff. The Library is also well equipped and has all sorts is books one will need. All the classes and academic area are also air conditioned and well maintained.

The campus life here is very active and one can enjoy very much, there are always space for activities every day. We can take part in various activities like sports events, practice for them every day, play different sports, exercise, etc. We can always occupy ourselves. The landscape is very soothing, there is a lake in the campus which is real nice to walk along and cycle around. There are also different clubs for activities there are many clubs to choose film according to your liking. They have many activities going on and it's very entertaining and enjoyable. There are also college fests, spots meets, inter college tournaments, marathons, quiz, talent shows, e-gaming tournaments, and many more. All the fests and functions held here are real fun and energetic. The campus life here is peaceful with the perfect climate and aesthetic location with a lot of activities to choose from.
