A Degree Factory with Limited Focus on Holistic Development

Overall Rating
KIIT is an Institute where the main goal of the Institute is educates tons of children. The batch of 2024 has more than 4000 admissions. I had no other good choice rather than to join this Institute. Well it is not totally bad Institute if you can focus on yourself and use the resources efficiently I think you can achieve great things in life. As it is a private Institute and the facilities provided are great but everything comes at a price (literally).
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen B.Tech CSE. It should feel special but there are almost 4,000 students in my batch and 2,000 of them are in CSE core branch and other CSE specializations. The main Goal of this Institute now is to earn money. No one talks about innovation or creating new things or new research. Just learn coding and try to crack the TCS job that's it. They say there is an entrance exam but that is just formality. Entrance Exams should have respect like BITSAT but their entrance exam is like you just fill the sheet and I will give you CSE.
There is no fixed fee structure. They can increase fees whenever they want during a year. The total fees of 8 semesters are like Rs. 22 lakh. We have to pay Rs. 1,000 every semester to give exam. There is a scholarship to students who score under 1,000 ranks in their entrance exam.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is a mixed bag. Some are good as you can connect with them easily and some are just a hard wall and you can’t go through them easily. If you like research you have to find professors because they are there but very few in number. The teaching method is still traditional. Very less interactive lectures are organized.
 

Placement Rating
The 100% placement is a myth they will put a cap on the CGPA and only the students above that CGPA will be able to sit in those placement drives. Big companies don’t come usually. Maximum placement is done by mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys. etc. Median package is just 4-5 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Well the Hostels are the best thing about KIIT (if you get KP14). The rooms are well equipped with AC and washrooms are shared between 4 people only. The cleaners come daily. Good ventilation with a balcony but there is only one issue with the in time of the hostel. Its 6:30 pm, if it was 8-9pm then it would have been better. Mess is very clean and hygienic and if you are a non veg. lover then it is a heaven for you. Some wardens are pretty strict but seeing the actions of students it is necessary.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Library is the best that I have ever seen. It is a well equipped library and only good if you make good use of it. The academic structure is still out of date and giving traditional not industry standard training. Class rooms are also good and well equipped with AC and are clean. The one thing you won’t miss in KIIT is sports facilities, be it swimming or gym or any other sport you like it is there and just 500 Rs per month. The KIMS is also a great thing if you have any illness you have to just show you ID card in KIMS and the doctor will see you free of cost.
 

Campus Rating
See campus is good but the crowd is not nice. There are a lot of societies and one should explore to find out opportunities in them. There is a fresher’s party at the beginning of the Institute but the crowd spoils it. The KIIT MUN is the second biggest event in the Institute and it tries not to miss it. The KIIT fest is the best event and a lot of things happen in here. When there are no exams, everyone is relaxed and everyone has fun during that time.

    Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar has a great infrastructure, sports facility, clean campus and overall okay faculty. I think this is one of the best private Institutes as the facility they provide is sometimes better than the rest. I have heard from my seniors, the Placement here is good, if not the best.     Overall experience in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar was quite good. It was suggested by one of my seniors from the same Institution and after ending of the first semester I realised it was totally worth it. I got a good peer group, great faculties and amazing facilities in this huge campus. The placement provided is also quite good. Most of the students get placed before the completion of their course.     In my experience the university is good overall, so before I answer why I chose this particular institute over others I’ll let you know that I am a Computer Science enthusiast and compared to other university its really easy to get computer science here and when I say easy I advise that you join this university for Computer Science streams only, because other stream's packages are very poor.     This Institute is a combination of extracurricular activities and great academics. KIIT provides a beautiful natural environment for students to study and perform their various vocational activities. One who is a great fan of sports and culture must come here cause it is the domain of all these.
