New Delhi Institute of Management PGDM Review By Chirag Tyagi

Honestly speaking New Delhi Institute of Management is also an average college but at least they look after their students and do all that they can to get students placed. The placement percentage is so high that students who don’t get placed can pity on themselves. Mostly the students that enrolled here were from engineering background and we felt each other pains. So, one common connection striked at the start and that connection just grew in due course and eventually we all left the campus with tears in eyes but degrees and jobs in hand. So, I just have good things and good memories about the institute because the institute gave me almost everything from a quality life to quality education. So, to settle the debate between the best and the average, yes NDIM Delhi was an average college but the one that welcomed students with open arms. Provided them with all the facilities that a top B-School provides and there were no toss-ups as everyone were provided equal opportunities. So, one can be greedy as much as they want but I do believe that every college do have their share of Ebbs and Flaws.

The verdict of academics is that students were man of the match and the college was man of the series. This is purely because students did all that college asked them to because if this is how business studies are done then let me tell you that do PGDM only if you have the capacity of staying in isolation for two years. There was being days when you will have to skip dinners because you will have assignments at hand which will die down your hunger. No matter how much students do they will still be behind the eighth ball. However, by the end of it, the seventh heaven is not far either.

Faculties teaching was great or should I say they used to teach us in a certain style which was unheard of. The happiness which was visible in students group take a lot of credit to the faculties because they always supported us and when the chips were down, they would ask our fellow students to lift your partners up. Nobody had the option to deny to faculties as their wishes always remained our command because all that we knew was that whatever they did or told was always in our favor. So, the satisfaction that I could feel in each and every individual was purely because of the prestigious faculties of NDIM New Delhi.

I was never fond of IT companies as I felt like I could contribute elsewhere. Since, I was a civil engineer some of the real estate companies like DLF, and Parsvanath Developers were present at the campus. Honestly speaking I didn’t even tried much and was still offered a job which was more or less in line with my expectations. Apart from IT, Real Estate, there were Pharma, FMCG, and Banking companies that offered jobs worth 5 lakhs or more to the students. I don’t think the average was any less neither was the percentage of students that were placed.

NDIM don’t have its own hostel and the hostel that they provided accommodation at was a little far. The college is in Tughlakabad that already has many students residing so finding an accommodation on own was not that tough. The hostel fees was anyways more than what I ended up paying at a PG where I stayed for two years. I had few more students along because hostel had limited rooms and college was ok even if the students wish to stay privately.

NDIM campus had enough vegetation to boast for but not enough land as the campus was quite small. There was legit nothing when it came to sporting facilities as the student lounge was the only place where we could have banters or the catch-ups with our friends. The canteen was good but only if we could manage to find space there during the breaks. There were two seminar halls and a small auditorium that during the events half the crowd has to stand and witness the performances. The main building though was centrally air-conditioned and so was the library which was again tiny but never mind as in big cities like Delhi, one has to anyways learn to adjust in small.

NDIM New Delhi campus will look like Rajeev Chowk Metro Station as students will be seen passing by and have no time to even say hello. It wasn’t students fault because we were loaded with so much pressure that sometimes even forgets that we have these many events coming up. I purposely had to maintain distance from the events because they were a source of entertainment but since I hardly got time to rest, I found that time to complete my rest. On some events though students had to compulsory are present irrespective of whether we participate or not.
