Oriental University offers many courses in Agriculture, Law, Commerce, Science and the list goes on. While talking specifically about B.Tech, the Oriental University is the best. I studied B. Tech. at Oriental University. And to tell you the truth, it's been a great experience. The lectures, events, and practicals happen according to schedule. Some percentage of attendance is necessary otherwise you will be fined by authorities. The teachers are good and well experienced in their field, what else do you need for better education? The campus is pleasant and well maintained. The admission process is simple too. The facilities provided at the university are also satisfying.
About the Oriental University, I think if they have increased the level of toughness of the syllabus, it could have been better. The syllabus makes sure to prepare you for semester exams and also knowledge that helps you in your career as well. The faculties teaches you how to apply the gained knowledge in the upcoming career projects. The academics mainly focus on practicals which makes you more confident in what you're doing. The faculties and the syllabus also helps you prepare for placement interviews, though placements are not that good in the university.
I always had a difficult time feeling with teachers. Being an introvert even though I was always shy to talk to any of the teachers. It is the season of having very few friends. Talking about the faculties at the Oriental University, they are amazing at teaching. The way some of them used to conduct lectures, it always kept me interested in studies. Some of them have very skillful teaching. All of the faculty members are educated from reputed universities and have PhD degrees. Staff at the Oriental University is also good and helpful.
Till 2015-2017, Oriental University Indore Placement cell was quite not up to its level. I had read many bad reviews about the college, especially due to the placement, but the University put some effort into it and tied up the placement cell with some of the reputed companies like Supriya, TCS, Accenture, etc. So yeah and there was this thing that only some specific branches had more scope in placement than the rest of them. It discouraged students more than anything but now the placement cell has been actively getting students placed in reputed companies.
The hostel for boys and girls are separate and are in the same campus. Oriental University hostel is kept tidy and clean. The only problem is that the hostel and college staff don't take students' problems seriously. They will just bluff you off and never actually work on them. It's just fake promises by them about solving the problem. As the college and hostel is on the outskirts of the city transport facility is made available for students. They charge transportation fees for that as well. The rooms at the hostel can be shared by two or three students. A single student can also take a room. Fee structure is different and depends on number of students staying in a room.
Oriental University campus shows an amazing infrastructure and all the facilities provided are really great. The university takes special interest in sports as many tournaments are organised in the campus. The sports like cricket, basketball, football, etc are played by students. But cricket is the one where the college takes part in different matches and has a very good coach for it. Students are encouraged to take part in sports competition more often besides studies. Medical facilities are not available for students. They should add it though, being a huge university, students will expect medical help if something happens. The classrooms and laboratories are well equipped and in good condition.
The campus area of Oriental University is filled with greenery as the college is kind of in a village area, a few kms away from the main city but still the environment is pleasant and calm. The University is away from the city chaos so it's not much of a distraction there to your studies. The libraries give you full freedom to study as long as you want. During exam days, the library gets packed easily as students come early to secure the seat to study. Overall the campus doesn't let you down. You have to keep up with some percentage of attendance as it is compulsory.
The four years of my degree went by just like that. From childhood itself, I was always a nerd and books were my favorite friends. I wanted to gain real knowledge not just to have a degree but to understand it as well. With the help of Oriental University Indore, my wish was fulfilled. The college really did help me to level up on most of the aspects and that raised a certain confidence in me. The helpful staff and faculties at the college make your time there easier with their kindness. The adm... Read Full Review
