When you just get 60 odd percentiles in CAT, you are left with fewer options and in those fewer options, I think New Delhi Institute of Management was the best. Delhi was indeed my first choice to do PGDM as one thing for sure about Delhi and Delhi colleges that it will make the students smart if not anything else. My communication skills and much other stuff which were my weaknesses turned into strength here as the standard of NDIM was quite better. You see those smart people around and your standard too goes up. The students of the college had some spark within them and that ignited the entire class, I guess. So rather than doing PGDM from some random college where nothing really matters as you can get into NDIM with 60 percentiles in CAT, 75+ in MAT. Of course, you need to have a decent GD & PI rounds for that to happen. So, all I know is that I have seen the best version of me at NDIM.

Look at placements of NDIM before drawing into academics as our batch was placed with ease and since placements have direct co-relation with academics there’s not much look into it. There were so many of academic things that when I look back and say that academics at NDIM definitely came at party though little late because the first semester was quite slow indeed. If I put into context the academics of NDIM with other top B-Schools, the course was more or less the same as I checked the syllabus of FMS Delhi, and the MDI Gurgaon and we had more or less almost the same things to study and same things to do. So, academics can never collapse here because the stake holders have done their best that academics should never suffer even if a goof up happens. So, all in all, NDIM was an academic paradise.

Faculties give even more credence because will have to accept the fact that the students who came here were average and yet everyone gave their 200% and that’s a lot because bringing the best out of a person is the best trick that we had to learn in our course. Faculty’s brilliance always helped us and motivated us to run that extra mile because their expectations were high but even if we were close to it, it was appreciated by them. When somebody of their class who themselves were graduates from top schools had experience of working at the top posts of some top companies meant a lot to boost students confidence.

We secured jobs even before the final semester ended. The strong companies came at the campus and students were taught well to tick the boxes that are required to get placements. Nearly 80% of the students had placements from the campus in range of 4-5 lakhs. The figures may not be that impressive but the companies where we all were about to serve after the college were perhaps the best. So, somehow NDIM placement cell found a way to manage ever so smoothly that students could not just complain.

The college doesn’t have any hostels in the name of NDIM but hostels which can be termed as proper hostels were rented or rather collaborated with were awesome. Just half a mile from the college and given the kind of facilities that we were provided, I was happy to stay at the hostel than finding accommodations other than the hostel. Many of friends used to stay at some PGs or flats close to the college but I would still advice students coming here to avail the hostel facilities because rooms maybe small but furnished enough to sit, study, and relax. Even the food was good as both veg and non veg food lovers had enough varieties that they will not get bored at least in the 1st year.

The college building was awesome as the area was quite less but the building was like a five-star hotel with air-conditioned board rooms, classrooms, and auditorium. The college canteen was so good that for every small or big thing I never looked beyond it. I wanted a coke, I went to the canteen, I wanted a coffee, I went to the canteen, I needed some munching, I went to the canteen. So, canteen was everyone’s go to place at the campus.

The education and grooming at NDIM was such that it won us the placements and hearts back home. NDIM campus life was consistent as it was never so high or so low because a certain pace was maintained and be it academics or events, everything went the same way. So, the flashy part might be missing in campus life but in PGDM, you anyways have to spend more times with case studies than anything else. So, NDIM campus has got us in a position where students became confident and were ready to take the mantle of Alligator sky on their shoulders.
