Experiences of Last Year Student in Thiagarajar College

Overall Rating
I'm a final year student at Thiagarajar College. In my opinion and experience. This college is best in everything compared to other colleges in Madurai. It has most disciplined students and well-educated staff. The reason I chose this college is its placement. they provide placement offers for every department and placement training internship opportunities it's not possible in every arts and science college and it's affordable for every student.
 

Academics Rating
I'm currently pursuing Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. It’s the best course out of other streams. I will recommend everyone to choose this course as it has bright career in future. For applying to this college, one must meet cutoff of the college my cut-off was 321 and I applied for this course through official website. We have 6 semesters. In every semester, we have 2 internals and one final external exam. The syllabus is good and well updated.
In the first semester, I paid Rs. 27,000, which includes tutorial and other fee. For second semester, I paid Rs. 19,850 as a tutorial and other fee. For the 3rd semester, I paid Rs. 21,000. For 4th semester, I paid Rs. 20,500 and 5th semester I paid Rs. 29,000, and I paid Rs. 20,350 in my last semester. So it takes Rs. 1,30,000 in total. Financial aid is available for students by both management and government. I paid Rs. 250 for my college application.
 

Faculty Rating
My faculties are well trained and updated about the current trends and technology. My faculties have completed PhD. Many of them have previously worked at MNCs so it's helpful for students to know about the real time works. We have projects in 5th semester. They will guide and help us to complete the projects.
 

Placement Rating
Thiagarajar College is well known for its placement opportunities. We have placement cell. Placement training will be provided by the college from experienced and skilled professional. They will train us for aptitude and coding. Average package is 3 LPA. Companies like Deloitte, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Zoho, HCL, TMB City, and Union Banks visited my college.
 

Hostel Rating
My college offers both boy’s and girl’s hostel. Boy’s and girl’s hostels are inside the campus. But for girls, we have one more hostel, located at Engineering college campus. Students have to pay around Rs. 80,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As a student of Computer Science stream, I can assure you that my college has every lab. We have SRCC lab for department of CA and IT, AD lab for Computer & cognitive students, and Commerce lab for Commerce stream students. For science students, there are Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Physics labs. Strength of my class is 48. We have very good classrooms.
 

Campus Rating
According to me, my college is good. I got lots of memories and moments in this campus. Yes, my college has clubs. Every department has a particular club and events. My department has TIC clubs and I’m a part of this club events. I used to conduct events for my juniors and classmates. We have annual fest called Sangamam, which will held once in even semester along with sports day and Pongal celebration.
