VIT Bhopal University: An Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech Journey

I am a 3rd year student and my overall college experience is great. My college life is best. Class notes are digital and are provided by the faculty via teams or Google Classroom.

I chose B.Tech and M.Tech Integrated program in AI course as it saved me one year in doing M.Tech. Admissions process for B.Tech students is as follows: register for the VITEEE exam and clear it. In the end, you are provided with the fee structure and the campus based on your rank. Eligibility is a minimum of 65% in 12th grade (PCM). The curriculum is almost same as that of B.Tech students. B.Tech students have to complete 180 credits over 4 years, and we have to complete 220 credits over the span of 5 years. No doubt, that the curriculum is well designed as per industry rules and regulations. Improvement lies nowhere, just if the behavior of some faculty members is improved than the life is set. Exams are held twice a semester, mid terms and term end. Level of exams lies between easy to moderate. Class notes are digital and are provided by the faculty via teams or Google Classroom. No need to make noted in the class unless you prefer your own hand written notes.

Academic fee for my course, which I paid is: 1st year: Rs. 99,000, 2nd Year: Rs. 97,000, and 3rd Year: Rs. 98,000. it will revolve around this only. VITEEE Registration was around Rs. 1,200. The fee is based on category 1 to 5. Category is based on scores obtained.

Each class is of around 50-70 students, varying from class size to size. Faculty to student relationship is must on which VIT should be focusing. The faculties, which are helpful to children (which I have crossed paths with), are: Dr. Shweta Mukherjee, Dr. Rahul Kumar Chaturvedi, and Dr. Abha Trivedi. Some faculty members are like once in a blue moon if you want to meet them, and others are easily accessible. They all teach using PPTs and every class is equipped with projector & a white board.

All the companies, which visit the campus, select the students for the internship only and later it is converted to full time role. Last year companies visited are which offered super dream are: Amazon, Audi, HSBC, AMD, and Nvidia. Companies, which offer dream packages are: Cognizant, TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc. There is a PAT (Placement Assistance Team) in our college but due to recession, companies are not visiting as expected. Recently, Swiggy offered a package to one of my seniors. VIT Bhopal has several room types, which include 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 bedded including AC, non-AC, bunk and flat, premium and non-premium hostels. Most common room type is 4 NAC Bunk, the fees is Rs. 1,29,000 for 10 months including mess charges. Mess food of non-premium hostel is poor but the food of premium hostels is satisfactory. Every day, 4 meals are served including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Daily there is different menu. Room type is based on CGPA, for flat bedded more CGPA is required and for bunk bed, normal CGPA is required. Hostels are affordable if you opt for 4 NAC Bunk. There is a GYM in 2 hostels, which is common for every student. Girl’s hostel is separated from boys. Hostels are closed at 9 PM daily sharp. Personal experience was great in my opinion.

The campus has 2 academic blocks. Both of the blocks are around 500 meters away from each other. The campus is spread across 400 acres but needs to be developed. Library, auditorium, conference hall, and every other facility is there. There are multiple canteens where you can have a relief from mess food. They have great food but their prices soar high. The best place in campus is nothing, everything is normal looking.

Every year in the month of February, our annual fest takes place that is Aditya. Many events are celebrated, games are played also there are multiple performances. Library is available from Monday to Sunday during office hours. In terms of sports, many sports events are also there which takes place. Crowd is insane in the college. There are many clubs in college, which are like 15-20 in number.
