Yenepoya University Mangalore Hostel Life: Comfort, Great Food, and Cultural Diversity

I have joined the college in the year of 2023- 2025 batch. This is my final year and doing final years masters in Clinical Psychology. I find the institution so good the university campus is specious with greenery, a library with many books, a canteen, cafeteria, an open library, gym, hostel, etc. Students from different culture belong here and the place is accessible to easy transportation. I stay in the hostel the food is so good, 4 day meals are provided, with both vegetarian and non vegetarian food, the staffs are friendly, and have enough freedom for students. The hostel room is specious with 4 sharing and washroom is neat and clean. Both room and areas are being cleaned everyday.I have joined the college in the year of 2023- 2025 batch. I'm doing my final year masters in Clinical Psychology. To be honest the teachers are well trained and educated and guide us in maximum ways. I had no idea about my course during undergrad but joining here exposed me to the course. There is internship provided in every semester and we can opt for block placement. Students can apply for the college if scored 50% and above. The admission process in easy, we can apply directly. Exams are conducted every semester along with 2 internal exams. This schedule of exam makes us learn easily. More exposure to research is there.

Semester fee for M.Sc Clinical Psychology is Rs.65,000/- There is no other extra fee like exam fee, books, uniform, etc. White coat is given where we don't have to pay extra. Discounts are given for students who get above 90% in all subjects.

The Faculties of my course are well educated and experienced. They have enough knowledge about the subject. As masters student most of the classes are taken as seminars and presentations by students itself but any doubt is cleared by teachers. Sufficient teachers are present. For research, students are divided into certain groups. I feel like teachers are not approachable and bonding between students and teachers are comparatively low as they maintain professionalism.

Placement is not provided for Psychology

I'm staying in hostel. There are about 2000 plus students with 4 sharing and 6 sharing rooms. Rooms are spacious with good variety of food along with laundry service. Girls and boys hostel are separate and are divided for MBBS, Allied Health, etc. Hostel fee is Rs.97,000/- per annum. Hostel timing is till 6pm which I find as a drawback as the main town is 30minutes away from the University. I find the hostel peaceful, have privacy, as well as spacious.

Library provides many books of different categories and an open library is present in the university campus. The classrooms are big enough with AC and good seating arrangements. Campus are divided for different courses like Allied Health Sciences, Management, Physiotherapy, etc. Expect the University Campus all other Campus are small without a proper Campus life which is a big drawback and no extracurricular activities and programs provided, just studies. Canteen facility is present, college transportation is provided.

Overall campus life is poor without extracurricular and events present. For studies it is a good place. There are no clubs. Yearly a single cultural event is conducted. Other than University Campus rest are small with enough space for hangout or leisure so it is a bit crowded. And there are 7 floors with just 2 lifts because of which there is crowd and a long waiting time, or else we have to climb all the stairs.
