Symbiosis Institute of Technology M.Tech Review By Shivam Arora

When I told everyone that I am going to Symbiosis many people told me that it is over hyped and whatever. Well, in my books it wasn’t as firstly, the institute enjoys a solo campus as it is affiliated to Symbiosis International University but engineering campus is no short of being called a campus to desire for life long. Not just it promised the best learning atmosphere but also gave us a campus life that I cherish to date and probably for the rest of my life too. Yes, some part like the placement and others maybe a little hyped but, Symbiosis group needs no introduction when it comes to education or the campus life. I didn’t just have a bounty of a time but the college has taught me to wish all my friends a bounty of a day every morning when I wish good morning to all. Trust me the college has changed me for good and I am so happy that I am doing it because I don’t think without coming to a place like Pune and SIT for that matter, I would have learned so many finer things in life. SIT, Thank You So Much for happening to me.

Look, one has to devote themselves or commit themselves entirely here into the academics because firstly M. Tech is a course that needs complete devotion. Secondly, the classes included a lot of practicals and if that wasn’t enough, we had to go to a lot of drills like company visit, regular seminars, and placements training all to ensure that by the time we are finished we turn a product that can serve the industry in the best possible way. So, academics here were much beyond the textbooks and I just loved every single bit of it.

If my previous college gave me wow factor for its infrastructure, the faculties of SIT Pune gave me many wow reasons because I was just in awe of them and the learning that I took home from this college faculties was a good enough reason for me to say that faculties were bounty here. One love a person and be in their proximity for long is what I longed about them and I am glad that faculties didn’t mind that one bit. They could be anyone’s friend and for that matter rubbing shoulders with them was like so easy that I extracted a lot from them.

Placements were not to come by but one has to do compulsory internships here to have placements and because Infosys has tie-up with college, it was easy to apply for internship there. Once you do internship with them they will ensure that if you learn from them, you will not have to search for jobs elsewhere because they will take care of it. Yes, there were a lot more recruiters that SIT has but Infosys IT park is full of students from SIT that it just feels like another SIT campus. The average placements were around 10 lakhs and what else can one ask for because I have never imagined of that kind of money coming to my bank accounts after I finish my education.

Luckily the M. Tech strength is less and therefore a hostel is devoted for them. The hostel life which I always desired to experience; SIT gave me a befitting hostel life honestly. I loved every bit of it because even though there was a curfew time at entering the campus, we could have fun inside the campus all night long. Yes, the guards would come and warn even the warden asked us to keep reservations but we did hell with them as just enjoyed out hostel life the way we wanted.

The college campus honestly was quite small as one huge building summed up the academic section. I don’t have any complaint with that building as it was facilitated well but it was small and sometimes it did felt like congested. Like the auditorium was at the ground floor and passing by was fun. The campus has the smallest of playgrounds and even the indoor facility was quite small. Just a table tennis table and one small squash court where players already made their way and I never got a chance to play a single game.

Symbiosis and its campus life are incomparable. Many guests keep coming and all the actors and dancers at the university got new lease of life because of that. One thing that SIT had was that students here were no less of talent; we had gymnasts, choreographers, and what not. For events, were presented the opportunity to perform at SIU campus as we shook legs with MBA and other students that reside at SIU campus. All in all, it was a pleasure to be a part of SIT that honestly changed my perception of looking at things.
