NSUT New Delhi's CS-AI Program Outshines DTU's IT Branch

My overall experience in this college is very good. I was also getting a seat in IT branch in DTU, but in my opinion, pursuing CS-AI from NSUT New Delhi is better. The campus life is good. The campus size is about 135 acres, which is a very lush green campus. The location is very good as it is very close to Dwarka Metro station. Campus life is very good. We usually have many things to do so we don’t get bored any time. There are more than 25 societies/clubs in our college. By the way, the nearest railway station is very close, so everything appears to be very close and reachable at low transportation cost.

We have 6 subjects in this semester. Each subjects has its separate professors, and lab staff. In addition, we have 80 students in our batch and are divided 2 sections. There are 4 class tests (CTs), 1 mid-sem, 1 end-sem each semester. Marks scheme goes like 50 marks for end-sem, 20 for mid-sem, and 30 of internals (Total 100 marks per semester). For 1st year students, the curriculum is not much relevant (being a Computer Science student), but after 1st year the course is very relevant for us.

I will be covering all the details related to the charges and fee structure in points. I am a hostler, so starting with my hostel fee that I recently paid is Rs. 36,000 (per semester). It does not include mess fee, which is Rs. 23,000. So the total cost of accommodation is around Rs. 59,000 per semester (It is for sure in on a higher side in comparison of other government colleges like NITs & IITs). There are no electricity charges in hostel. Moving towards college fee, college fee is submitted in two parts (1st during counseling and other after allotment) which is equal to Rs. 2,40,000 (Rs. 1,45,000 & 95,000) per year. It includes all types of charges such as tuition, caution, registration, lab, library, and other small charges. A fee from next year is going to on a higher side (increases by about 8% to 10% every year). This point is regarding scholarships. So being an government engineering college, obviously it offers a lots of scholarship based on income.

Faculty members of NSUT New Delhi are usual. Some of them are goods, some are moderate, and some are very strict. Faculty is very approachable. They give proper time to our doubts and issues. Sachin sir is one of the best faculty (Mathematics faculty in 2nd semester) as he so friendly.

Placements are very good in my college. Being one of the best engineering college in India, many companies visit during our on campus placements. The average package is around 10 to 12 LPA. For CSE department, average package is around 18 to 20 LPA. Major companies like Google and Amazon also visit for on campus placements and provide a good amount of packages. Placements season generally starts after 6th semester. internship opportunities start after 2nd semester. Highest package always goes around 1 CPA and lowest around 7 LPA. Around 70% of students in computer science department get placements. Number of companies usually lies around 80. I am a first year student so I don’t have that much idea about number of companies. Some of my friends who are very brilliant in some fields like graphic designing and coding, they already started earning money.

Hostel facility is very good in our college. There are two options: single room occupancy and double room occupancy. I would really to like to appreciate our washrooms, they are good and well maintained. Taking about the mess, the menu is superb but the quality of food is okayish. Registration forms come out after every semester/year, and you just have to fill those forms. The community or management of hostel decides based on distance from the college. Also by any chance, if someone doesn’t want to stay in hostels then they can also opt for PGs.

Infrastructure is good and well maintained. There is different building for different departments. Library is great, we had a lot of variety of books in our college (from course to fictional books). This vast library also has great magazines and novels. The infrastructure provides many amenities. There is also a canteen named within the college. The canteen provides food items in an affordable rate. Even there is a gym, which is completely free.

Campus life of NSUT New Delhi is okayish. We literally have society for any category like dancing, singing, sports, and coding, everything. Infrastructure is pretty decent and maintained. There are two fests in our college. The technical fest is ‘Resonanz’, which happens in every odd semester and cultural fest is ‘Moksha’, which is happening in our even semester. Both of them are very good fests. Resonanz is a small fest. This year, ‘Moksha’ is yet to happen, but last year our college had Sunidhi Chauhan, Raftaar, and King. We are officially not allowed to stay outside after 10 PM., but we often do night outs during weekends.
