LPU Jalandhar's Hostel Facilities and Student Accommodations

My experience is balanced, as it is tier-3 private university. Here you can get scholarship on basis of marks scored in LPUNEST exam, which is very beneficial as a fee waiver. During my time, compared with the other similar universities, I find LPU, Jalandhar efficient one. The campus is very beautiful in itself really.

I am enrolled in B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering that is a 4-year full time program. I chose this course because I have interest in Tech and computers since my school time. There are many ways to enroll here. One of the major ones is LPUNEST, which is university admission test that is not very hard to crack. Students can also join this university through their 12th standard marks. Hence, if you have scored 90% or above in your boards, you can get direct admission. There are total 8 semesters in 4 year, 2 semesters per year. One semester has 2 main exams midterm, end-term, and 3 to 4 CAs (Class Assessment). Number of exam depends varies from course to course. Academics prepare us well for the real-life challenges and more for the industry level challenge.

Fess structure is as follows: Rs. 1,20,000 for tuition fee per semester and Rs. 4,000 for examination fee per semester. There is scholarship on tuition fee that is given on the basis of LPUNEST or 12th marks. I pay Rs. 74,400 per semester tuition for fees as I got 38% remission. Fee has to be paid all at onetime before starting of semester. There is no way to pay installment wise.

Most of the faculties are average but some of them are good. It totally depends upon your luck which teacher you get. Many of them are PhD scholars from LPU itself or have completed their studies from here. Method of teaching is using PPTs on projector, whiteboard, and group discussions according to the subject. Problem solving abilities is average. Teacher student ratio is manageable. Experience of bonding is totally depends upon person to person but in general it is casual.

Every course has its own placement cell that organizes placement classes before placement season in summer & winter holidays and sometimes during regular classes itself. From 6th semester, companies start to visit for on-campus placement. Many big and startup companies comes for placement. Highest package of CSE is upto 50 LPA but mostly 25 to 30 LPA. Lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Average is between 5 to 10 LPA. No doubt, you will get placement opportunity.

The university has separate boy’s and girl’s hostels. There are many categories of room in hostels such as single, double, triple, & quadruple sharing rooms, Apartments with small kitchen, and dorm rooms (6 to 8 seater). Most of them have option of AC and non-AC also. There is attached washroom in all rooms. There are several mess options. Food quality is average and hygiene is good. Hostel fee is bit high according to facilities. Fee for 4-seater hostel is Rs. 90,000 and Rs. 38,000 for 3-time mess meal, which increases every year and you have to pay it annually. There is in time for girls but not for the boys. My personal experience is good.

Campus of LPU, Jalandhar is very huge (600 acres) with all of the facilities. Campus is around 9 KM far from Phagwara city. Classroom in CSE blocks have lecture hall, seminar hall, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) classroom, computer labs, etc. It has huge central library and separate library of each school. All the labs, seminar hall, auditorium, and conference hall are available. There are many canteens and food shops that you can find all around the campus. There is one mall inside the campus that has all type of shops, banks, departmental store, Dominos, subway, etc. are also available inside mall.

Campus life is good it has many to hangout. There are many student-organized clubs where you can learn a lot. There are many fests going on in campus all the time. Every week or every day, there is something happening in campus. Campus life is good here you get many things to enjoy and experience.
