Fee Structure and Scholarships at CET Trivandrum

I am a lateral entry student. I chose this college because it is the best engineering college in Kerala under KTU. And they provide better placement offers than other college.

The course I have chosen is Electronics & Communication Engineering because I have already studied this course while in Diploma. This course contains Electronics and Computer Science fundamentals. So the opportunity to get placements under this course was high. We can deviate in any paths. We can choose core fields or it fields. As a lateral entry student, for getting in to CET Trivandrum under this course. You should get a rank under 50. Even though department wise, it should be under minimum 6 because Electronics and communication has only 6 seats for lateral entry students.

If you have scholarship, no need to worry about the fee structure. I have only paid an amount of Rs. 9000 at the time of admission. After that, my entire fee was paid through E-Grantz. If you are not eligible for scholarship, you have to pay an amount of Rs. 3,500 and minimum Rs. 1,800 for tuition & exam registration fee per semester. College provides scholarship for students having poor financial background.

Most of the teachers are so friendly but some may not. They didn't provide notes but go through entire syllabus and teach necessary parts of the subjects. Most of them were very qualified lectures and staffs are very nice and friendly. Most of the teachers use PPTs and books to teach us and some of them use black boards to teach. In each semester, we have to do course project in core subjects and for each semester, they conduct 2 series exam before the main exam.

CET Trivandrum provides best placements for every department. Placements start in the end of sixth semester. they provide placement training in collaboration with any coaching centers. the placement cell have some rules in which this placement is divided in to three slabs. First slab is up to 6 LPA but not 6 LPA and second slab is in between 6 LPA and 15 LPA. More than 15 LPA is offered in third slab, which is from, a dream company. If you are placed in a core company. You are unable to sit in any other placement

Yes, college offers residential opportunity for both boys and girls. As a girl, I can tell about girl’s hostel. There are 3 buildings for girls that are Old block, new block, and diamond jubilee block. This diamond jubilee block has 3 floors and each floor contains almost 15 rooms. Rooms are very huge and 4 students can stay there very comfortably. They are actually made for arch students but were also allotted for B.Tech students. Mess food was average and the fee is average of Rs. 3,500 per month. But if you have E-Grantz, then no need to pay the bill unless it is higher than Rs. 3,500. Every inmate should get in to hostel with in 9:30 PM and can only get out at 6:30 AM. In between this time, you can go anywhere you want and anytime you can enter. No one will ask if you didn't enter the hostel.

CET Trivandrum has a main building which all the office works was going on in this building. It has a spanner shaped structure because it has also a Mechanical department in third floors and industrial blocks in the left side. Each department has its own buildings. Each of them was very large and seems like mini colleges. Near to every department, there is one or more canteen facility available and we have gazebo named park like structures for students to gather there.

My campus life was so unpredictable. I am a lateral entry student and I face difficulty to catch up with the academics. But teachers help me a lot to get in to the track. Then even conduct special classes for lateral entry students. There are above 4000 students studying in this college and each department has 2 batches. Most of the teachers are friendly and lab assistants are very nice.
There are many clubs for students to participate and this will enhance their skills and opportunity to build connections.
