BCA Program at ICFAI University West Tripura

My overall experience in ICFAI University was good. The environment of our university is green lush area and very good. There are smart classes and air conditioned labs also. I choose this university as it is very popular and well known in our state, as it is situated in my own state and provides a good curriculum subjects compared to other universities in our state. I have chosen this course as it provides good skills in coding and in communication too. The thing that is different in this university is that here the placement percentage is higher than the other institutions.

The course BCA provides good skills in coding, web development, and backend & frontend developer. All are eligible who have passed their 12th or higher secondary. Admission process of the university is easy, the first thing was to apply for admission in the website of the ICFAI University Tripura and then have to come to the university for reviewing the documents and for further process of fees and other transaction. Exams in our course and in our university are held too often, there are two internals taken per semester and there are two main exams one is midterm and the final comprehensive exam. The academics prepare for real life challenges.

The year wise fee paid for my course is Rs. 66,000 and semester wise fee is Rs. 33,000 for my course. Tuition fees is Rs. 33,000, admission fees is Rs. 20,000, registration fees is Rs. 500 and no other charges. Special discounts are only for those students who have ranking in TBJEE and in JEE or in NEET exam and also for those who got above 9 CGPA got up to 50% discount in their semester fees. Scholarship facilities are available in ICFAI University for SC, ST and OBC students.

My course faculty members teach very properly and appropriately. The relation between students and teachers was good; faculties are very approachable and helpful in teaching. The faculty members are well qualified and experienced. They provide us notes and ppts too. They are very friendly and solves problem easily. The teacher to student ratio is 1: 80 in our course. Bonding with faculty members is good for me and they are very approachable.

Students in their last year are allowed and eligible for campus placements. Companies that are visited are Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, HCL, etc. Highest package offered by a company is 10 LPA and the average package is 3 to 4 LPA. Around 90% of the students got placement in campus.

Hostel rooms are in good condition and you have to share room with other roommates. They provide a bed, a table, a chair, cupboard, fan and light in the hostel. Mess food was not that good, taste is below average and food quality is not as per the fees paid. My personal experience in the hostel is good because there is no need to cook food which saves my time. There is a specific time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hostel timings and mess timings are scheduled accordingly.

Academic blocks at ICFAI University are quite good and big enough and have good structure. Classrooms can hold above 100 students. Academic facilities are available like library is available in our campus where most of the valuable books are available, seminar halls are available, and auditoriums are also available in the campus. More than 5 canteens are available in the campus; sports like football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton are also available here. Medical facilities are available in the university. Campus provides transport facilities also, security is strict in the campus and CCTV all around the campus is available.

Tech festivals that are celebrated in our campus are NOVATOS and ICARIA which are the biggest fest in our state. University crowd is very huge around 4000+ students. No extracurricular activities organised by the university. My experience about the campus life is good where I can play many sports inside the campus and there are many roaming spaces like inside or outside, there is one gymnasium also.
