Securing My Future at Chitkara University: Academics, Placements, and Infrastructure

Overall Rating
Chitkara University is good for studying engineering. It is located on the outskirts of Zirakpur. I chose this university because of its excellent placement rate. The university has good faculty but the fees is high. The infrastructure of the university is brilliant as all the required amenities are present. The campus life is engaging as there are many fests and events held throughout the year.
 

Academics Rating
Students need to secure at least 60% in 12th standard or they can get admission on the basis of JEE percentile. The admission process is simple as students have to apply online and they will be called for admission process .The university conducts exams 3 times per semester along with end semester exams. The academic curriculum is up-to-date according to the industry needs. We start studying coding languages from the first semester itself.
The fee of my course is high as it is Rs. 1,20,000 per semester with an annual increase of 5%. No scholarships are provided even on merit basis. However, SC/ST students can access scholarships provided by the Punjab government.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is quite experienced, friendly, and cooperative. All the teachers are either pursuing their PhD or have completed it. The teaching mode includes PPTs and whiteboards. The teacher to student ratio in the Computer Science department is 1:13. The Mathematics department is very nice. The attendance criteria could be improved as students needs to fulfil 75 % attendance before every mid semester exam.
 

Placement Rating
Students are provided exceptional placement services at Chitkara University. The average package at the university is 4 LPA. If students complete their course without any backlogs than their likelihood of getting good placements increases.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The university has a lot of academic blocks. It has spacious classrooms and with centralized AC system and white boards. There are around 12 libraries available at the university. The auditorium also has centralized AC system. A separate food court area is present with all popular fast food joints. Three main grounds are present at the university. All sports facilities are available for students which includes both indoor and outdoor sports such as Badminton, Football, Volleyball, etc.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life experience is average. Students can participate in lots of clubs for extracurricular activities. I am part of the regional dance club. The university organises various engaging activities and fests. The fests are conducted in January, August, October, and December. Apart from this, other small events also take place throughout the year.

    Overall experience at Chitkara University is great except the fact that hostellers have to attend classes at night time i.e. 4:10-9:30, which is very inconvenient as most of us are not used to this shift in timings, but we still manage to study and have fun regardless.     Chitkara University provides you the best faculty member, well-experienced professor, and internship placement as well. If you are choosing hostel you will be choosing best thing as the nightlife of hostel is the best moving around campus with friend going to square or for mid night craving going to mess for getting some stuff from vending machine its great memories.
