Faculty and Infrastructure of Kamala Nehru College

It has been a dream come true that I have been studying at the Kamala Nehru College, New Delhi. I think that this environment has led me to explore and improve myself. It is a wonderful experience to be in a college, which provides a supportive space to grow. Although the start was rough but the college has become my second home, where I now fit completely. It’s a privilege to be a part of this college because it offers great opportunities for learning and development.

KNC is Delhi University’s arts college and has various options in Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, and Mathematics. Academically, the college is very flexible as students are given the freedom to select different combination of subjects in BA and B.Com program. Besides this it has Honors courses in 13 Arts disciplines, B.Com (Honors), and B.Sc. (Honors) in Mathematics. The choice based credit system (CBCS) combines a structured and flexible approach in the curriculum. More interdisciplinary choices have been added for the students under the new education policy (NEP) 2020. Master's program in six subjects and a French course are offered by the college.

Kamala Nehru College, Delhi’s fee is affordable. It also offers different scholarships for a girl child whose family income is lower than 5 LPA. Scholarship is also given to visually impaired students.

KNC has an outstanding faculty. Most of the professors have PhDs and are experts in their respective fields. They are friendly, helpful, and ask students to come to them even out of class for doubt solving. Their teaching does not stop at textbooks but also motivates students to think critically. The student teacher bonding is friendly. Professors also try to make lecture as interactive as possible. Their guidance and notes are truly acknowledgeable.

The placement cell of the college is quite active and organizes events such as the Phoenix (an internship fair), seminars, the workshops, and the recruitment drives for the students. Companies like PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Lenskart, and FNP frequently visit the college campus for recruitment.

The college has a very good infrastructure which enhances the student’s experience. There is a 3 storied library, having a collection of academic books, novels, competitive exam materials, journals, and well equipped computers. Advanced projectors in the classrooms make learning fun. Apart from this, the campus has sports facilities, a gym, and a big auditorium for cultural & academic events. The canteen and Nescafe serve tasty food at student-friendly prices. It also has lush green lawn all around the campus which makes it really peaceful for everyone.

KNC Delhi is well known for its lively student clubs on a variety of interests like dance, drama, debating, photography, and social service. The 'Ullas' festival provides students a stage to actively participate and show their skills. The college has societies like Laksh (The Theatre Society) and Crossfire (The Debating Society) which have proved themselves in various competitions. National Service Scheme (NSS), Enactus KNC, and Nurture incubation cell, help students to participate in community service, entrepreneurial projects, and innovative startups respectively. So far my college life is lively and cheerful.
