Academic Insights at MMU Ambala

Overall Rating
Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Ambala provides both Bachelors in Anesthesia and Operation Theatre at the same time period. Students get a great exposure to medical field due to the presence of hospital more than in any other college or university in the location. Top qualified faculty and best counselor for the students are present here. Infrastructure is good.
 

Academics Rating
I chose BSc in OTAT. This Paramedical course is for assisting doctor during surgery and working on an aesthesia station for controlling different gases like oxygen, nitrous oxide, etc. while surgery. Just need to fill a form for admissions and they will contact you. Eligibility to join Paramedical course (any) is above 55% marks in 12th class from a recognized board. Exams are held semester wise and weekly test are scheduled for checking progress of students.
Fee is paid semester wise. For one semester fee is Rs. 36,750. Hostel fee is Rs. 88,000 including food and everything. Electricity bill is paid if it is above 40 units and if it is below 40 units it’s free.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very good and cooperative. The entire faculty has a medical background. They teach us using both blackboards and PPT, after each class doubt or group discussion is done. Teachers help in every problem student’s face. Student to teacher ratio is good as well. Faculty feels more like mentor and personal guide.
 

Placement Rating
Placement is given inside the campus, only if student had good grades and practical skills. Rest of the students get 1 year internship which is included in the degree itself. Placement rate is above 90% in the university.
 

Hostel Rating
Separate hostels are there for boys and girls. Both infrastructure and mess food are good. Both air conditioned and non air conditioned rooms are available. Hostel fee yearly is Rs. 88,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Each department has demo rooms for lecture and practical labs. Lecture theatres are also there. Classrooms are air conditioned and have both blackboard and smart board. Separate auditorium is also present which is sometimes used to practice for different events. Air conditioned Library and Canteens are there as well.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is very good here. University has a good crowd not over crowded but there are many students from different cities, states, and countries. Medical fest called' IRIR' and cultural fest called 'Vasudhaivaye Kutumbkam' are held annually. Sports events are organized every year. I am a part of NSS. 90% attendance is mandatory here. Rest everything I thought in imagination is there.
