Admission in IIPS Indore: Entrance Exam, Fee, and Scholarships

My overall experience at IIPS, Indore is pretty good. The faculty is nice and helpful. The institute life is also great, it focus on study as well as the extracurricular activities required for the overall development of the student. I chose this institute because it is considered to be one of the best deparments of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhyalay due to its good academic records and placement rates. Also, it focuses on practical knowledge.

I am doing integrated B.Tech +M.Tech course in Information Technology because I am interested in the technology field. The eligibility criteria include 12th passed (PCM) with minimum 50% and a good CUET score. For admission you need to give CUET examination, secure good marks and then fill out the application form in DAVV portal and follow the said steps. In one semester, 4 exams are held; 3 internals and 1 end semester exam. Internals are of 20 marks each and best of the two is considered. End semester exam is of 60 marks. The academics prepare you for the real life challenges as well.

My course fee for general category student varies from Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 53,000 which includes everything the tuition fee, maintenance fee, etc. Fee concession is given according to the category of student. Scholarships are also provided such as ‘Medhavi’ and MPTASS. Scholarship is also provided on the basis of class 12th marks.

The faculty is quite good. Every faculty member is highly experienced in their own fields. There is a batch mentor, assigned for every batch, to whom you can talk about any issue so, teachers are very approachable. You can even go to their cabins to ask doubts. The teacher-student ratio is also quite good. Problem solving ability of the faculty is good. Some of the faculty members are average and hence, some improvement is needed. The teaching method differs according to the teacher; most teachers use a combination of blackboards, PPTs, and group discussion.

Yes, there is an active placement cell in IIPS, Indore which helps the students to get internships and placements through companies, visiting the institute campus. Internships are almost through the off campus sources but placement rate of our institute is quite good, about 80% students are given placements. The average placement of this institute is 7.3 LPA and the highest of all times has gone to 1.13 crore per annum by a Netherlands based company. Major companies that visit the campus are Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, etc.

Yes, institute offers government residential facilities. There are separate hostels for both boys and girls with very minimal charges. Hostel charge is around Rs. 20,000. The quality of mess food is quite nice. Hostel rules are quite strict. A Wi-Fi facility is also given.

The IIPS, Indore academic block is well structured and student friendly. It is located at Bhawarkuan Sqaure, Kandwa Road, Indore. The classrooms are old but have a seating capacity of about 150 students. Some classrooms have projectors and AV aids while some don’t. There is a library as well, which has a variety of course and non course books. Also, the campus has 3 to 4 labs with well equipped computers and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is one big auditorium and 3 to 4 lecture halls where different seminars and conferences are held. There is a canteen, which has basic food options and is not that well furnished. There are different grounds dedicated for different sports like cricket, football, basketball, badminton, volleyball, etc. The campus also has a running track.

Overall, campus life is great. The institute crowd is also good and friendly, there is no discrimination based on the locality of a student. There are many clubs such as sports club, art club, coding club, and many more in which you can participate and also be an organizing committee member as well. Some, extracurricular activities are organized by the institute as well like innovation conferences and cultural fests. Fests and events are also organized, such as Tedx DAVV and ‘Sfoorti’ (cultural and sports fest). My experience has been great so far in IIPS Indore.
