Admission at KJSCE Mumbai's CSE Branch through MHT CET

KJSCE Mumbai is a great college. I chose it because I saw the opportunities it gives to students like student exchange programs and a wide range of courses. Many of my family friends were in the same college and it is the reason, why I did not think twice to get admission here. I feel the exposure this college gives to the students is way better than other colleges, surely better than the Mumbai University. I also like the grading system here.

I chose Computer Science and honors in Cyber Security & Forensics, as it was my field of interest. The eligibility criteria at this college for CS majors is 90 percentile in CET and JEE Main. I had 95 percentile in CET. The admission process is completely online so, no need to go to college for that. There are 2 exams in each semester. The in semester examination which is of 30 marks, ESE (end semester examination) for 50 marks, and the remaining 20 marks are for the IAs (internal assessments). The IAs are mostly on the basis of real life problems which helps you to connect your studies to practical use, such as building a web application.

The fee for every year is Rs. 5,00,000 which keeps on increasing at the rate of 7% per year. It includes everything. Special quotas are available too like for sports, EWS, etc.

Faculty is nice and supportive. Almost every faculty member has done their Masters, out of which some are PhD holders as well. They know the subject matter well and teach in an easy to understand manner. Most of them have worked in companies and then joined teaching hence, they have hands on knowledge of what they're teaching. In class, they use blackboard and PPT both. If any student is stuck with a topic, teachers provide personal help and give their time to help the student learn the topic. The teacher student ratio is perfect.

I don’t know much about the hostel facilities, as I am not residing in the hostel.

The infrastructure of K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai is amazing. Campus is of 63 acres in Ghatkopar. Library has both course and non course books. Issuing of books is hassle free as they have library management systems. The classrooms have a seating capacity of 70 students and all the classrooms are air conditioned. The labs, seminar halls, and auditoriums are air conditioned with a good capacity. The canteen is clean and has delicious food. The college has every sports facility you can count. Medical and security is all covered in our college. The best part of this college is its huge space.

The campus life is great. Many fests are conducted over the year and the crowd is also nice. There are many clubs more than one can count. I am not a part of any club. Extracurricular activities are also crazy in this college like modeling, dancing, swimming, sports, singing, art, etc. The annual fest of my college is ‘Symphony’ which is the best. It is for straight 3 days, celebrated with music, DJ, concerts, and lots of other fun filled activities. I think, I’ve done a great job in choosing this college. It is super fun.
